Memes of [email protected]

I was going to comment on a post today, and found out I'd been banned from [email protected]. Apparently it happened awhile ago.

Not much of a reason, no real evidence given. The mod didn't include a screenshot, link, or even quoted text, so I'm not sure which specific interaction led to this. Basically this is just thought policing. Hilarious considering that the community claims to be:

free of the “ML” influence of instances like lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.

Also, even if the accusation is true it doesn't break any community rules:

There is only one mod of [email protected], so this isn't just a vague/general example. @[email protected] is a PTB.

If I owned hexbear.net and Hell, I'd rent hexbear out and live in Hell.

Interacting with people on hexbear reminded me a lot of Hell as visualized in Good Omens - that is, a collusion of dimwits and bootlickers stuck in a cycle of perpetuating petty grandstanding, abusive behavior, and thoughtless hostility toward any ideas different from those already approved by the community.

0/10, do not recommend.

Can you copy the Doctor?

What happens if you Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V on the Doctor's data files? Do you duplicate a sentient being?

In "Virtuoso", Tom & Harry try to reproduce the Doctor but they're basically trying to make him from scratch, so I don't think their failure is relevant.

At the end of "Author, Author" we see many repurposed EMH Mk1s working as miners:

...and they seem to be self-aware, so I guess we have to assume that it's technically feasible.

But then what happens if you Ctrl+Z?

On the Verge of Collapse - The Story of Rooster Teeth

I'm dropping this in here for anyone who's interested in the background of where RWBY came from and what happened that turned it into the darling orphan it is today.

RWBY was Rooster Teeth's second major series. I think if you're a fan it's worth knowing about Monty Oum (RWBY was basically his personal project) and his influence on the company.

This video is the best summary I've seen of Rooster Teeth's existence, how they got started, their peak, and how it fell apart. They were internet trendsetters in a lot of ways. It's worth the time to watch.
