Japanese scientists have successfully created fertile female clones of a male rat, who can have healthy offspring when breeding with the original male rat.
I want to be excited about this but I don't expect the offspring to carry a lot of genetic diversity. This is highly complicated inbreeding but with even fewer genes than normal.

helpline recover critically endangered species.
What the fuck
They can cone me into a hottie that can have sex with me to make others.... I can be a mitochondrial mother!
i can accept cloning alright. even the gender bending. but i draw the line with my suspension of disbelief at making you a hottie
We could all be hotties!

Why would they run this experiment anyways?
Possibly as a way to repopulate nearly endangered species that may not have viable females to reproduce normally?
Northern white rhinoceros have only two females left!
To prove the cloned offspring is viable/fertile?
Where the fuck is Jeff Goldblum to explain the ethics?
Busy with his clone apparently
This is how you create a royal line in 3 generations
The king and his princess having an incestuous boy king child? Sounds about right
Everything after the comma 😳
