Its not so much about what they sell and what they sell, its more about that stores do this to squeeze every last penny out of an event that supposedly for once should would not be about money, cheapening the entire thing to just another money tit for the rich
Okay. When I walk into a Lowe's to buy a power drill, the entire aisle of bathroom sinks on the other side of the 5 acre store don't bother me at all, because they're back there.
When they start putting out the Halloween decorations for sale in April or the Christmas shit in August, they put that right at the entrance, it tends to make noise, it's often scented, and especially with the Christmas shit they start playing non-stop Christmas music over the store's speakers. So we get half a fucking year now of either the same old shit, or this year's repackaging of the same old shit. It is actively bothersome.
Like, you walk into Michael's and there's always an aisle of wreaths and pine fronds back there. And it stays there year round. That's fine. They don't choose an increasing number of months out of the year to wave it in your face as you walk in.
Add to that the ever-increasing commercial nature of the holiday and it's just...ugly.
This is XERXES. TriOptimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. An extra work cycle just twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.
Home Depot and Lowes have Halloween decorations in already, but that's almost kind of reasonable. Ish.
Having Christmas stuff in August is just absurd, unless it's one of those dedicated Christmas stores that's open year-round for some reason. (Do those still exist? The only two I knew of near me either went out of business or became online-only years ago.)
closest I ever saw to a dedicated xmass store was a figurine place that always had an xmass section which became practically the whole store come november.
I found Thanksgiving in a grocery store or two the other week, but wow. It's a weird feeling to see it and then think the stuff in between somehow matters less. Maybe others don't have that thought. It's just depressing to see, or, mildly infuriating.
The only good thing about this early jump start in holidays is the food. You will start seeing stuffing mix, pumpkin pie, egg nog, and other holiday foods start showing up in the grocery store soon.
JFC even Michael’s (which is a crafting store) doesn’t have their Christmas stuff out yet! And if you’re hand-crafting Christmas gifts for the whole family, sooner is better than later to start lol

so people can get their loans approved early and have stockings
Whatever company this is van fuck right off
I find it hilarious how this pisses people off. Why does anyone give a fuck what a store sells?
Stores have always sold heaps of stuff that you don’t buy, why do Christmas decorations give you testicular torsion?

Huh, isn't that just plastic bullshit? Why is it so expensive?
50% off in August suggests a marked up price.
I imagine they’re trying to get rid of last years models.

It's not even Rosh Hashanah yet.

My wife said she saw an ad for Christmas stuff at Spirit Halloween.
That's just too funny
