So the only thing you can confidently say based on this information is: it's 100% certain the entire codebase of Twitter will not be going open source.

Maybe the entire frontend so they can train on copyrighted data without punishment. Grok has been sassy with daddy and he is angry.

Let's add it to the list of lies:

  • musk is a "free speech absolutist"
  • FSD next year!
  • E2EE chats in Xitter

Keep it going!

Didn’t he promise to make the Tesla patent public and when it did they were decades old already public patents or a shit like that ?

If it's not a lie, it's not worth it anyway, we have better things now. I do love the boot lickers who want to help him though.

It could be to crowd sourced bug fixes. I'm sure someone will be keen to give daddy musk all the help he needs.

This just a ploy to feed Grok.

Also their code isn't valuable. I want to see the algorithms and admins logs and bots.

isn't the algorithm part of the code? or is that split off into a separate repo?

9

Yes, it could be part of the code but you are also correct they can separate it out.

this is the idiot that took down twitter when he yeeted racks out of a data center and threw 'em into a u-haul.. ones that were still powered on and used by the site. so anything's possible... but i don't think even he would be so stupid as to release the algorithms or his special 'tweaks' to them.

I mean, I use GoToSocial, people like Sharkey or Akkoma.

Who knows, maybe someone would prefer twitter for some reason.

Plain old Mastodon does seem the better option though

Didn't he already do this early 20's and then never update it past the original commit? Or was that only the algorithm.

Something like that. I remember people finding the part of the code that upranks Elon's posts, so the algorithm seems to have been there/included.
