deckyloader QAM bug [help] (SOLVED!)

Has anyone had the css loader plugin for deckyloader make their QAM (quick access menu) not display properly? Some particular script (I don't know which one, or what would be the best way to narrow it down, because I installed several) made it where my QAM doesn't show. Functionally, it still works when I press the button, I can tell because the background blur effect still takes place and I can still navigate and change settings if I press the face buttons, but it's as if the menu display itself is invisible.

I was able to dig into the file system on desktop mode and delete the css folder (after copying it over to another location), and when I rebooted everything works fine again (sans css, of course)

I'm running Bazzite on a onexfly handheld, if that helps any.

Edit: in case anyone runs into this in the future, 'round main menu and QAM' was the script that caused the bug. You have to back out to the 'homebrew' folder where you will find another folder called 'themes' and that's where all the custom scripts you've installed will be located. You'll likely have to 'run as administrator' to do anything with the files. Just right click on a blank space inside the 'themes' folder and open/run as administrator should be an option. Type in your password and you should be good to go ('bazzite' would be the default password if you haven't set one up yet).

Edit 2: today I noticed I was having the issue again. I think the script I previously thought was the culprit actually wasn't. The new one that I tried removing is just called 'full screen menus'. So far so good, I'll come back and update again if the problem persists.

Where do you get your plants and supplies?

cross-posted from: https://piefed.social/c/houseplants/p/1978261/where-do-you-get-your-plants-and-supplies

Hi, I'm a beginner at plant caretaking. I recently picked out a couple of small plants at a nursery, but they didn't have any pottery to go with them unfortunately.

So, I'd like to know where do you generally like to go to get what you need? Are there any good online resources I should be aware of? I'd prefer to shop locally of course, but the resources available to me here are limited and difficult to get to.

Banner pop in

Hey, i just wanted to take a moment to address something minor that's causing my browsing experience on summit to be a bit inconsistent.

When clicking on a post with a picture that also has a banner, the banner always takes a second to load in. This load in time often causes me to long press the picture by mistake (thus bringing up the long press menu) while attempting to scroll the page to get to the comments section.

razer controller not recognized

Hey, I'm needing some help getting my controller working in game.

It's a Razer Wolverine V2 pro RZ06-0471. It has two switches on the back, I'm using it in 'wireless' (with the 2.4Ghz dongle) and 'PC' mode.

I'm running Fedora 42 with KDE
using steam with proton

Steam recognizes the controller and the device inputs all work fine when I use the input tester in the controller settings on steam. When I open up a game, however, the controller isn't recognized. The glyphs are all showing mouse/keyboard icons.

Edit:

The issue was related to steam having been installed through the discover store (as a flatpak). Uninstalling the flatpak in the discover store, and then installing steam through the terminal (sudo dnf install steam) made the controller be recognized again no problem!

contemplating alternative setup

cross-posted from: https://piefed.social/c/battlestations/p/1389168/contemplating-alternative-setup

Here is my current setup. My laptop is an incredible gaming device but I'm kind of hung up on the fact that I don't much enjoy gaming at my desk. I much prefer to game in a lounging position where I can put my feet up. Because of this, I'm considering splitting my priorities for gaming and browsing into separate devices.

I'm thinking that a mini pc might be a good option for my desk setup. I would use it mostly for browsing, some light server needs, and (possibly?) some light modeling/design work using freecad (for 3d printing shenanigans). I've been eyeballing the minisforum um790 pro or something similar.

My gaming needs would likely be outsourced to a handheld pc. I'm pretty set on getting a onexfly and loading it up with bazzite. I know they're expensive, but the form factor and hardware capability really has me sold on this one. I know it would handle everything I wanted to play on it, and more. I've even been wondering if it would be a good daily driver with a dock or something and just omit the mini pc idea altogether.

Help accessing save files

I am wanting to upload my save file for hollow knight silksong to a progress tracker on the wiki. I have the game on Steam, running it through Proton 9.0-4, and I'm on Fedora 42 KDE Plasma.

Trying to access the location ($XDG_CONFIG_HOME/unity3d/Team Cherry/Hollow Knight Silksong/) through Dolphin just gives an "invalid protocol" message.

What should I do?

Silksong (emulation)

I purchased Hollow Knight Silksong on Steam recently, but I would like the ability to play it on my Ayn Odin 2 max as well. I am having issues getting it running though, and would like to know if there are any detailed guides out there for my specific device setup.

-I have tried Winlator, but was not quite able to get it running.

-Gamenative did not want to boot, and I think they are still trying to work the kinks out.

-I have Eden emulator, but would need to purchase the game again and also I don't know if there's a way to transfer saves between Steam/Eden.

-The only other option I'm aware of is gamehub, but I think I would rather avoid that one if possible.
