Well thats not very hardcore of them at all. If i saw a banana moshing or crowd surfing id be stoked
Right? All the hardcore people I know are pretty chill and don't take themselves to seriusly. When you start to act like you're "sooo trve" you're doing something wrong.
Maybe it's a Nazi Hardcore Gig, then I can absolutely imagine that this might happen, otherwise I agree, hardcore people are usually pretty chill, moshpits usually help anyone that fell etc.
In my experience, there are definitely some overlap in the people that show up for hardcore shows. Not saying that fans of hardcore tend to be nazis, more than nazis tend to show up at said shows.
I'm reminded of that "Yoshi's in the pit" clip from a few years ago of an Australian band's live performance where a dude dressed as Yoshi led a mosh pit and the singer was excited that was happening.
https://youtu.be/4d_5R_noZas
LOL Yoshi standing as a hoard revolves around them and then they join to run in circles... Sweet.
What's going on with the crowd delivering people to the yellow vests?
Too much Toxic Waltz, maybe?
This type of music is the opposite of what I would consider enjoyable. People are weird.
It's not for everyone. Personally I didn't have any interest in hardcore until I went to a concert for one. Especially nowadays, it's one of the few genres that get people moving regardless of venue. It has the energy that so many live concerts heavily lack.
People are weird. We like what we like, and no one can really understand why some people's brains gravitate towards some things other brains are repelled by.
I'm sure I have some music tastes you and others in this thread would consider weird or off-putting (Peaches, the Canadian producer, comes to mind immediately for her overtly sexual songs and themes).
I sincerely hope their next concert is filled with fans in banana costumes.
I now want a banana for scale at every metal show I go to (as long as I’m not standing behind him)
Nazi punks, fuck off!

This band it appears is anti israel, loudly so. I feel that although this incident was bullshit and they should've left the banana weirdo alone, the fallout was amplified by Israel because the band criticizes them.
To be clear, Israelis are the Nazis.
No it was amplified cause these guys continue the idea of bullshit culture that you can treat people like shit cause of how they dress.
You dont realize how your words are nonsense cause you are to used to hearing yourself.
While I agree, and don't like the band or their music. The fact of the matter is, they are outspoken against Israel and that's a good share if not the reason they are being cancelled so hard.
Get fucking real.
I don't give a fuck what their opinion of Israel is, this shit is not fucking cool and this video alone will make sure I never ever see this band ever
I agree with you that it is possible that this story is being sensationalized because the band is anti Israel. It just seems like it could have been a low key stupid incident that a few people on you tube might watch. The truth is 99% of our media is owned by hardcore Zionists and they can choose what to sensationalize and promote. Thanks for pointing out this possibility I will look into it. I’m adhd so I often see connections before others too.
And for the record I am just saying we should recognize their influence, even if we think these guys deserve to be cancelled.
No, you get real. Let people tell you why they are upset at someone and believe it.
They showed who they were. Can something else be true sure but tin foil hat conspiracy after a group abuses one of their fans won't get confirmed as true just cause you want it. We are letting you know why we are upset with then and you keep interrupting with your idea why we are upset. Its messed up and ignores others.
You are the person here with an agenda. You are the person who can't be trusted to actually care about others.
Plenty of racist asshats are opposed to Israel and also virulent anti Semites who assume that anything a Jewish person does is evil.
I don't agree with your presupposition that "opposed to Israel" implies "admirable" or "worthy of protection".
Nah. They did a super d bag thing all on their own. Israel wouldn't have had to help with this one. You don't get to be a next to no name band and tell a crowd to kill a guy and strip him of his clothes without getting abandoned by anyone with a reputation. Not since the 90's, anyhow.
Do you honestly think Israel gives a shit about a random hardcore band from Baltimore? Lol
Band got dropped from their tour. They also have taken down their FB page if I remember.
Their behaviour was shitty and they deserve having lost their place on that tour.
Also they were supposed to tour Europe on the bill with Hatebreed until Jamey Jasta heard about this.
Make breed, not hate.
Banana bread. Mmmm.
Oh yeah, The End, is so over.
Wait, the band singled out some dude in the crowd of Canadians for wearing a costume as wanting attention? The same band on an elevated stage being very loud and under spotlights? Did they feel threatened that they weren't the complete center of attention anymore?
Thank you for the comments letting me know the band was dropped from their tour. Live music is amazing and dying at the same time. It doesn't need wankers like these acts killing it faster.
The massive irony of a punk band calling someone out for not fitting in is undergoing gravitational collapse.
What a shitty band, I'm glad they've been kicked out of the punk scene.
Way to End It.
May they vanish
Not only are the bullies but they're cowards as well.
Anybody who follows a "hardcore" band like that is the worst kind of little pissant fuckweed. Then again the little shit fucks at that show who beat up a guy in a banana costume in order to get a fucking set list are exactly the kind of people I would expect to follow this kind of bullshit.
Agreed!
With their act of bullyism, End It has effectively - and inadvertently - brought about their own end.
I'm glad the gentleman in the banana outfit is standing up for himself.
I'm also grateful for the comments by other Lemmies here.
Indeed
Sounds like the band read the room wrong. It's kind of weird to call out someone for wanting attention while on stage too.
Offering a reward for beating up a fan is insane. Glad they were dropped from the tour.
And a bunch of morons accepted. The hardcore scene is unfortunately filled with morons who go to shows so they can punch and kick people.
What the fuck is wrong with them that they think this was acceptable? I'm glad they've been dropped from their upcoming tours.
I'm especially disappointed by the fans who fucking listened and attacked the guy, too.
Frankly, the banana guy has every right to sue their asses for encouraging violence against him and destroying his property.
Reminds me of a much worse incident, a clip I saw of a Travis Scott concert, he crowdsurfed and his shoe came off iin this kid's hand and he accused him of stealing it and tried to start a fuck him up, fuck him up! chant.
The crowd ignored scott and got the fan to safety in that case.
I’ve never heard his music but Travis Scott sounds like a piece of shit
Isn't he the one that encouraged the fans outside the stadium to hop the fences and sneak in which lead to several people getting trampled to death?
Was that the same one where he refused to stop the show while paramedics tried to get to the trampled people? Not sure if that was him or not, it was maybe a few years ago
Edit: apparently it was, per the other commenter next to you
Travis Scott played a set in which 8 people died. To be fair, Travis Scott wasn't the sole factor for the deaths. Management and the promoter share responsibility.

What kind of metal concert is it if there isn't a guy in a silly costume moshing?? One of my most treasured memories is being in a moshpit and getting decked by a guy in a chicken costume, absolutely folded, only to get dragged to my feet by several others before I even realized I was on the ground. Community, people, community!!
A person in a banana suit is basically a prerequisite of any ska show. We used to have inter-punk solidarity; these guys must have not gotten the memo.
Harcore vocalist on a litteral stage calling somebody out for wanting to be the center of attention and suggesting they should conform is some olympian level bullshit.
The desire for nonconformity is evidently limited to the institutes this band disapproves of.
They ain't hardcore. Fuckin poser losers.
Hardcore has always had a shitty culture. Stop throwing elbows in my pit.
No.
Colossal scumbags. Unfortunately, there are a lot of secret authoritarians and conformists in our midst anywhere, it's unavoidable in any group that values a visually similar aesthetic as a way of signaling belonging, this absolutely goes for non-conformist and punk circles too whether we like it or not. Stay safe out there
“What we've learned by being excluded for who we are is to form a group that excludes others for not being exactly like us. This is social progress.”
I would like to point out that Banana people are always welcome at Primus concerts. Les Claypool knows how to have fun.
https://youtu.be/3HubVkoGzpY
Primus sucks!
Damn I'm going to see Primus in 2 days and now wish I had time to get a banana suit.
What's really crazy is that the picture in the thumbnail is clearly outside with a plain banana suit, but the article shows a video of a sparkly banana at an inside gig, indicating that this isn't an isolated incident of banana flavoured xenophobia.
Edit: ITT, OP loses their mind over a duplicate post.
You have multiple accounts and chose to use them all to comment the same thing?
Edit: for all those who come this way, just close this comment chain. It's a mess. But yeah their client bugged out and they did not like that very much.
::: spoiler spoiler So if anyone was interested they are also Javi and
MrGoosMoos:::I have to admit, "banana flavoured xenophobia" was a good line.
True. It had to be put out into the world, no matter what it took.
Nah it said failed to post on one so I used another (its literally just pressing a button, don't even need to rewrite the comment on blorp) removed one once I'd noticed both posted.
3 times, with 3 accounts. It had a hell of a hiccup. I don't even have 1 spare.
Also is Blorp the app or something?
3 times? Its was twice,
unless the first account that said failed to post actually posted it twice?Checked and its definitely just the one duplicate. "Not 3 times by 3 different accounts" lol.Blorp is a fediverse client. Its not uncommon to have multiple accounts on the fediverse, due to differences in federation.
Why do you think its so egregious that I posted this comment?
I just read the rest of the chain. I'm sorry that I've caused you such trouble. I didn't expect people to get so bothered by a simple little copypasta.
Don't worry about it mate. Just another day on the internet eh 😅
I appreciate you thinking it was copypasta worthy if anything!
Edit: you're now the second person I've given a tag on blorp
they think that I am also you because I copied your comment.
I dont think the comment is egregious so calm down. I just thought it was wild that I got the same comment 3 times from 3 accounts.
It was more just a comical idea and use of alt accounts compared to the usual for upvoting your own stuff to make yourself seem popular or to use to get around bans.
You just had to make sure you were seen being shocked by banana.
And, neat! I really only know my voyager and some of the web app ones and went with my instance because its pretty widely federated. I am bad at diversifying and figured this was easier.
::: spoiler Tap for spoiler You should check for a comment from goosmoos since you got Javi. :::
Ironic that you'd tell me to calm down when you're the one blowing this out of proportion lol, I just wanted to make a fucking joke about a banana and then suddenly faced an interrogation.
No you are reading tone that isnt there and already acting like it is an attack. It was meant to be in jest while alerting you to your duplicates and I am sorry it freaked you out.
@[email protected]
😂
I don't have any alts on Lemmy. I just thought it would be fun to continue the chain.
Ok. Thank you for that. Was confusing to see on my side so did do something fun even if it just caused a super weird conversation (interrogation) with that other person.
gotta love when things are misinterpreted on the internet eh
and thanks for crossing out my name in your comment. it's risky for me to be associated with another account I don't know. what if they were something disgusting, like being left wing, and people confused me for that? that would be terrible, just terrible. my reputation would never recover. couldn't have people thinking I'm a half decent person.
Heavens to Betsy! I couldn't imagine!
I'm sorry for what that could do to your bad name.
Now excuse me but I think a handle of whiskey and a good snort is needed in my future. Sorry for your warm receptions once again.
Don't blame MrGoosMoos for your actions, They didn't cause anything. The only thing that caused this super weird conversation was you mate.
I know I am your favorite new toy, but you have to let me go.
Dickheads and hypocrites those guys, fuck em. I've never heard of them and I hope I don't hear them again
I thought music was about nonconformity?
The loudest self proclaimed non-conformists are often the biggest hypocrites.
Honestly, yeah. People usually champion what they are afraid of or what their own mind is focused on.
This idea of punishing others for what they are personally thinking is one of my least favorite human quirks. Its a very self centered reality.
It's about conforming to their particular subculture.
Was the "it" in their name referring to their music career? Lol what a bunch of posers
What is wrong with some people?
I dont know... My general take as always is I love humanity, as the concept, but people suck.
Agent K said it best: "A person is smart. People are dumb panicky dangerous animals, and you know it."
The banana costume isn't even that unusual...
Why is it I trried seeing a picture of this band on 3 search engines in different search terms, and no images were returned. They showed me other bands with end in their name, even with quotation marks around the name.
WTF happened to the internet? All three engines returned the same results too, they aren't even doing their own fucking searches it's all the same fucking garbage.
I'm curious what these douchebags look like, not the least as one used the n word and I'm curious if it's a white guy or what.
Here is the video of the beat down
Also this is a lot of the same band members as a group called No Pressure. Famous of course for their rapist drummer, and same singer of this band who kicked a girl in the spine.
Edit: Fuck them, and their abuser POS band.
I remember when web search used to be shitty. Then it got quite good. And now it's shitty again. I know why, because when you have to search multiple times, they get to serve you ads multiple times. But it used to be good where it tried to add similar search terms (like pants also searching for trousers) in the background so you'd find what it thought you were looking for.
Well according to the article, the band appears to be scrubbing their presence from the internet after this incident.
The correct band shows up in Kagi
Fuck conformity. This kind of bullshit behaviour has no place in the punk scene.
Aww man it was end it? I've really liked their songs and their videos lead me to beleive they had a good sense of humour
Most musical genres have some level of gatekeeping, but hardcore is one of the worst.
Banana suit joke got old in 2010 or so. It's annoying and the people wearing them are usually annoying.
Doesn't mean you have to be a prick about it
Maybe they should stick to Taylor Swift covers if they're so afraid of anything different
pic unrelated
Yeah but, Video related
yep that's why I was confused about the random different banana man at a different concert used by the headline
If I was a singer of a band and people showed up in costumes. I would get them on stage, celebrate their whimsy, and encourage more fans to show up in costumes.
A most pit with a bunch of people in costumes, that sounds like fun.
Silly hats only
I have a bad feeling about his anus
Hardcore bands and shows and fans are the fucking worst.
I don't understand why young white people feel ok saying this word. (Apologies if I'm wrong, I get the sense from the bit I skimmed that it's probably a white band. I see bodycam vids with white kids saying this all the time. Why?)
Black guy singer. The video is linked in a couple comments now.
Understood. Thanks for pointing that out.
I dont understand why youre ok with some demographic using something and others not, its a weird and divisive take.
Youre obviously ok with it in this instance, but youre still burning calories getting worked up about a scenario that isnt here.
Googling the singers or bands name would have been so much easier for you than writing your comment that just looks malplaced.
My comment remains true even though others pointed out that I was wrong to assume the singer is white. Why do white kids think it's ok to use that word? I didn't burn calories. You wasted time, not me.
What's really crazy is that the picture in the thumbnail is clearly outside with a plain banana suit, but the article shows a video of a sparkly banana at an inside gig, indicating that this isn't an isolated incident of banana flavoured xenophobia.
BTW, hi.
hi?
Neat.
Banana is the new Trans.
Hmm. I don't care about conformity or people wearing costumes, and I also don't support assaulting someone and tearing their clothes off. But it's a dick move to wear something that adds an extra foot of height at a concert. It's already hard enough to see at a lot of shows and I'm not even a short guy.
I doubt it was seated, and it sounds like he was at the back until he was called forward.
It's hard enough to see at a lot of standing shows. Maybe he wasn't on the rail but I doubt he was in the back. People who do stuff like this are there to be seen, they're gonna be at least in the middle of the crowd if not towards the front.
just look at the picture mate; there's like 12 people there and you can see some giant dude in the back left there.
Twelve including the five band members
