Alas, Linux. I did it to myself.

I'll need to wait for a more dedicated crack to surface.

I was pretty hyped about this but after watching some gameplay, I think I'll pass. I thought it was going to be a lot more like Hitman but it seems more like a pure action game.

Like others have said, the the enemies are blind and deaf. Doesn't seem like a bad game but not what I'm looking for

I mean, have you not seen a Bond movie? James is a terrible spy. He doesn't hide, he doesn't even give a fake name most of the time. He is constantly getting captured and then explosively fighting his way through damn near every scene. His superiors (and Q) are always bitching about these facts, too.

He's always been an action hero, not a stealth hero.

I'm aware but it was getting compared to Hitman, a primarily stealth game, throughout development.

And according to the other reply I got, the comparison isn't wrong.

I mean while Hitman is known as a primarily a stealth game you can absolutely "James Bond" it where you try to infiltrate, fail and blast your way through. In that sense I think not only does the comparison apply but James Bond himself gives some flexibility in the action to stealth scale because he is an action hero but he's also supposed to be a spy. So in a way you get to choose if you'll be a competent Bond and not get caught or you'll be an authentic Bond and wing it.

And of course the game is made by the developers of Hitman using the same engine Hitman does so obviously the game is going to be compared to Hitman.

Fair. And the videos you see probably are people who just suck at stealth games; I know the only people I've seen playing it also suck at Hitman and just start blasting everyone in that, too lol

I beat it already. It is a lot like Hitman, granted its been many years since I played a Hitman game.

The biggest is large levels with multiple paths and options for reaching your objective. Sneak through a series of vents and dodge guards; or lure a guard into a closet, knock them unconscious, take their key, and bluff your way in. Things like that.

If you get caught and enemies shoot at you, License To Kill goes live and you can use guns.

Can you play the whole thing stealth or is there mandatory combat? Maybe what I saw was just people not being good at stealth

You can technically play it all stealth I think. But there are parts where a villain catches you red handed, and sends swarms of their goons your way. I just gunned and blasted my way through those parts. It was possible to try and avoid them and sneak past, although that would probably be very challenging.

The gun play is very fun, too.

Edit: I just remembered there are a few parts where shooting enemies is mandatory, otherwise you die. I'd say if you really wanted, you could make like only 10% of the gameplay combat if you really tried hard?

You can totally infiltrate your way around the open ended sandbox levels and figure out the web of different ways to reach your target/objective for much of the game, similar to the Hitman remakes, but there are also quite a lot of mandatory scripted action sequences.

heard the enemys in it are pretty deaf, dumb, blind, and slow. you can beat up an enemy in range of another and they dont notice

The first time I heard that line in Skyrim was, in fact, in an underground tomb.

You wouldn't think there'd be a lot of wind inside Bleak Falls Barrow 😄

I'm a massive fan of James Bond and this game was fan-fucking-tastic! It really does an outstanding job of making you feel like Bond, but young and learning the ropes.

This and the Indiana Jones game not too long ago are peak movies -> games.

I genuinely enjoyed it, made by the same studio behind the Hitman remakes, the shared DNA is unmistakable.

isn't it the same game that got cancelled on twitter because of a khaby lame cameo?

I wish they would come out with an optional update to remove all streamers/e-celebs from the game because its not just Khaby thats in there. Their presence tarnishes the game but thankfully they are all entirely avoidable and non-consequential to any story-line so its not a huge deal, its just annoying that they are there at all. You have this cool cinema-style bond experience going on and then bam, theres Shroud/Jacksepticeye/Khaby standing there to bring you back to reality for literally no reason other than what? To bait content creators/streamers to see? So their fans can go "ooh theres my favorite streamer at a coat check!" I dont get it.

Let me remove them, it will not negatively impact the game.
