I appreciate you guys so much! I never expected to keep your attention for so long. 😁

I've gotten to learn so much and do some pretty amazing things thanks to you all coming to hang and talk about these superb birds every day.

Non-male identifying people post there as well, I don't recall it ever being an issue.

We're all just hanging out, reorganizing closets and moving dirt around, it's pretty dull.

Yes, I know. I still think making it about gender in the comm name is unnecessary.

That one has a better name. Unfortunately it appears much less often in my feed than the other one.

mostly a quality shitposting community, but, sometimes, just a nice community.

really. just some nice people with a fucked up sense of humor. so weird.

I still don't understand what that community is. I've seen it for years.

It’s just a meme shitposting page with a light trans focus. I’ve learned a decent bit about trans people/issues just from chatting with people over there.

The convention when posting is to work the word “rule” into the title as the rule of the community is you must post before leaving (which is itself just a joke).

I was surprised that so many songs in my collection weren't actually supposed to start out "schhhhhhhh K-Rock (k-rock)" lol

Any time I hear Minerva without that K-Rock intro, it just sounds wrong to me lol. That, and the "That was new Deftones. Minerva is the name of that song" at the end.

I a tally have a cassette somewhere around here of that very first play on radio too used to bump that heavy in my 86 buick regal lol

I got super annoyed by lightnovels over there because it's Japanese only and I mentioned in a comment a Korean novel. A mod rightly called me out.

It was clearly against the rules but that's annoying. I don't event track if a novel is Korean or Japanese since they're all translated. (Names are hard to remember so I just switch it to MC in my brain)

I can't speak of other /c's on the instance, since I hardly ever venture out of !anime

But different /c's, so different mods and people...

idk how you guys can stand your instance deciding what you can and can't see, i purposely chose an instance that federates with essentially everyone.

i keep an eye on what community and instance i'm looking at and posting on but I like to see all the different posts and communities and decide for myself.

10

I generally agree with you , but if anything I think my admin is too permissive and continues to federate with instances who really should have gotten the boot ages ago. So long as that state remains true I'm happy to continue staying where I'm at.

The nature of federation is such that it's going to naturally cause people to congregate along ideological lines, and as long as the threshold for migration is as high/low as it is (impossible to migrate an account, but trivial to abandon one and make a new one), my only 'requirements' are 'dont cross the pain threshold, I don't want to do more work to shitpost on the internet'.

2

are .zip instances generally less "restricted" than others? can see both of those communities fine.

Lemmy.world mods deleted it.

You’ll need to move to a better instance if you want to view the best parts of lemmy.

I have no idea how my brain chemistry works, but sometimes when I'm depressed and I go to [email protected] and it seems to help a bit. It's just neat stuff I guess.

The irony of all of these being on Lemmy.world, lol. :)

Make something the default and it becomes popular, yeah.

![email protected] but I'll admit, I am a little biased because I am a mod and regular contributor.

If you like bikes, boards, scooters, motorcycles, unicycles, or other personal transport, come check it out!
