I'm ok with the fascism, reduction of our rights, human trafficking, pedophilia, rape, forced deportations, economic wars against our allies, bombing of civilians, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and bigotry against anyone that is not a cis het white man, but I draw a line at an American President cursing on Easter Sunday.

I really wish Republicans would draw a line literally anywhere. But they keep explaining away every unhinged thing their leader says.

If a Democratic president said any of these things, Fox News would initiate pearl-clutching immediately, and Republican lawmakers would start impeachment proceedings the next day.

33

Depending on the Republican in question, but I'd argue they draw plenty lines regularly, though most of them are a powdery white...

Youve touched on something to keep in mind right now. What are the dems doing to stop this? Is there a real opposition movement in the so called progressive party yet?

2

I'm sure Schumer has drafted a strongly-worded letter.

If anyone can fuck up the response to this, it's the Dems.

There does seem to be a small contingent of Democratic senators who are looking to remove Schumer from his leadership role. I hope they succeed.

I'm ok with alll of that, I just can't stand having to pay a total of $5 more to fill up a tank of gas. It's finally personally affecting me, so it's a problem!!!

Would you care for a chocolate-like egg shaped product in these trying times?

A chocolate Easter Allah is precisely what we needed to defuse the situation!

with every tweet he embarrasses the country more and more. I personally hope Tuesday will be artery clogging day.

Forgot embarrassment. Start thinking about the world no longer trusting USA for the rest of your life.

The world has never trusted the US. Because of all that stuff we do to it.

Europe trusted the US, from around the mid 40s until the bush regime. That's the so called "american century", from the US entering ww2 until "WMDs in iraq" - about 60 years.

Yeah fine you can say that but it's far far worse now

It's... really not. Outside of key historically American-friendly regions, Trump is just seen as another imperialist ghoul running America in a long line of imperialist ghouls running America.

Yes, but also no.

Everyone can see the inflection point. Some might be tempted to roll the dice, we got a shit situation now, let’s see what happens. But everyone can see things are not like they used to be.

Trump is an accelerator, but he is also a symptom of a diseased country. The US has been religious fanatics since the Mayflower, nationalistic from 1776, imperialistic since WW1, and politically corrupt since Reagan (at the latest).

Those are some heavyweight cancers ravaging the country.

4

Oh yeah, absolutely. The county electing an obviously unfit person to the highest office is not something that happens on its own: it’s an indication of the rot running deep. The unfit person can then accelerate the destruction of the country in ways few were even able to anticipate.

The U.S. has entered exponential decline, where everything that happens makes the next step more likely and more impactful.

5

It is. There's a reason why European countries (and Canada) are trying to reduce their economic ties with the US. No country ever thought the US to be a force for good, everybody understood that capitalism was the single most important driving force behind the US international policy. But there was a semblance of decency and a principle of reciprocity among allies that the US helped maintain (obviously to its advantage most of the time, but nonetheless).

Now Trump is telling the rest of the world to fuck off, kidnaps a foreign leader, threatens to invade friendly countries and follows Israel in a genocide. What's happening right now is completely different from the US foreign policy for the last 40 years.

6

It is. As a European, essentially all of Europe trusted the US until the Iran war. Proof: Sweden and Finland just recently joined NATO, and it was because we ultimately wanted to be in an alliance with the US.

But I think we finally woke up.

1

FYI you don't need an account for Truth Social to verify Trumps posts. They are publicly available without logging in.

Might need it for others though, dunno about that.

I wonder how his Christian fanbase feels about him praising Allah and on Easter of all days.

50

I’m sure the same people who were infuriated with Biden the year Trans Day of Visibility just happened to coincide with Easter are just as angry now!

9

He does it as a fuck you to see how much abuse he can give to his base without losing their support

4

I'm sure they will find a way to explain it as a genius 5D chess move to "troll the libs".

3

Can't wait to see the Iranian embassies tweets trolling him like yesterday.

The guy really sounds pissed off and I'm not sure I get why. The war was won, he's leaving the country in 2 weeks and he doesn't care if the strait is open or not by the time so... what's wrong, Trump? U mad bro?

We're all just hamsters in God's microwave, and at this point, I'm just waiting for him to turn that fucker on

1

No God involved. Just monkeys in sneakers, and a microwave of their own making. This is both a terrifying and soothing thought because it gives us agency which the God hypothesis does not. We might just stop this madness and take our fucking paws off the start button to the microwave. Not because God tells us to. But because it makes sense.

Evangelicals only worry about the morality of Democrats. Republicans are allowed to be foul mouthed pedophiles because they are working for God.

Sounds to me like someone’s doctor didn’t give him enough sedative before the anal probe at walter reed.

Well, he's alive, but whatever the fuck happened clearly necessitated a shot of the good stuff in his IV, so I'll stay positive about the future.
