One of the biggest issues with the fediverse in my opinion, even the all feed is pre curated by what your instance has defederated. Lemmy needs a way for people to find content outside this filter bubble they are most likely not even aware of.

You can see what your instance, or any instance, is federated / defederated with by going to, for example, lemm.ee/instances
Down at the bottom of the list you should see who they have defederated, meaning lemm.ee and those will not share content amongst each other.
So if you want to see more stuff you need to make a new account somewhere with less or no defederation. Personally I recommend lemmy.zip, I chose it specifically because they only defederate illegal content and meta. From there I can do the blocking of stuff I don’t want to see myself, I just like to have that control and not someone else.
Piracy talk is a big no-no, but I do get to see the continuous creation of never-ending pornographic hentai & furry shit or whatever. The drawings look like sexualized cartoons made for children and the furry stuff just looks like people drawing out their sick sexual fantasies of animals. There is no concept of personal "algorithmic" feed here unless he subscribed to a bunch of hentai communities. I agree that when browsing on Everything sorted by New, there is a LOT of hentai. That includes AI generated hentai that seems popular here, probably because it is a legal gray zone.
It doesn't matter how many of these communities I keep blocking and blocking and blocking, the barrage just keeps on coming, it's relentless, they refuse to stick to one community or even two dozen of them, they have to make what seems like hundreds.
The worst are the horde of not necessarily nsfw celebrity communities. Thankfully it's all from 1-2 users so you can just block them, but it's like there's another new one created every couple seconds.
I already had to put a filter on Mastodon to stop seeing their creepy posts on my timeline with a #gaming tag, even though it's got nothing to do with gaming. Bluesky is also full of them and one of the main reasons I barely look at it.

If I recall correctly some furry instances have been defederated by other instances because one or two communities had a problem with that.
Standardization amongst tags could also be a headache where I don't see a consensus being reached on a federated platform like Lemmy.

The Jerboa app allows me to block communities without going to the community page, don't even need to open the post
