Honestly I never even thought about the lying aspect, I grew to dislike the concept since it's teaching kids that an old man is spying on them all the time.

You can't surely be comparing Santa Claus to our Lord and Savior, one is a magical figure that judges us by seeing everything we do and promises reward or retribution.

To be honest I'm not super comfortable with it either. It's something I grew up with but in hindsight it doesn't really make any sense to me.
