What are some good Lemmy communities
I joined lemmy a couple of years ago and added a lot of lemmy.ml communities but the politics there is unhinged and I don't even care about politics! What are some fun/funny communities with less unhinged people?! (no .ml please)

It is day 2 of the 16 day Owl of the Year tournament at ![email protected] if you still want to get in early on that. It's our annual bracket tournament to determine the community mascots for the next year.

I feel like I'm opening a can of worms by asking but what is "non-ml"?
.ml is the “flagship”/original Lemmy instance, and the “ml” usually means Malaysia but was taken up as shorthand for Marxist-Leninist.
Some folks don’t particularly like the political flavor of those communities and/ or the Lemmy developers who reside there, so they seek other instances and communities to join.
OIC that explains a lot. I had heard that Lemmy.ml had a lot of CCP sympathizers but was unaware they wore it on their sleeve like that.

When they say "unhinged", they just mean that they didn't respond well to messages like this.
Unhinged is digging around in someone's comment history because they said mean things about your instance.

Comms dedicated to specific animals are nice, mostly pictures. I lurk on [email protected], and I wish there were a comm for orangutans so I could stop lurking on /r/orangutan.
