Not sure on the technical details of exactly how long they last, but I've heard similar things several times before.

Always depressing to be reminded of this. Haven't had many fail, but honestly haven't tried a lot of my 3DS/Vita games in a while, so who knows.

If nothing else tho, it's nice to have an excuse to revisit some things. Once you boot it up, you might find yourself enjoying the reminiscing. :)

New week, new weekly thread. What are you learning this week and how?

It's also back-to-school season, at least around my neck of the woods. Not sure if many students are here, but good luck to any we do have. And for the rest of us, let's carry that spirit as impetus to learn something new this fall.

A friend just introduced me to awbw a few weeks ago. I don't think it's new, but I had no idea it was out there.

awbw is to Advance Wars as Pokemon Showdown is to Pokemon. It's a free web simulation of the mechanics, designed to make it easy to enjoy the multiplayer.

It has the COs, units, and map elements of the GBA and DS games. AFAIK most of the maps themselves are user made. COs are split into tiers, because (unsurprisingly), some are significantly advantaged over others.

You can play simultaneously, but there's an apparent emphasis on async matches.

So yeah, just sharing in cases other people who might be interested weren't aware of this.

I'm replaying A Link to the Past (or as I've taken to calling it, Zelda III), and I've tried to 100% it from memory. Unfortunately, I wound up one heart piece short.

Before going to look up a guide and going through that checklist, I thought it might be fun to ask fellow humans.

What are some collectibles in this game or any others that you tend to miss, or just had trouble finding initially?

Jiten is now officially out of beta! This doesn't change anything and the site will continue being developed at the same pace, it's just that all the features I imagined when I started working on it are now available and polished.

The features they point out in this update are Guides and What's New pages, several other enhancements/bug fixes, SRS leaving beta/opt-in state, and an MPV plugin. There's also a direct subscription option now, rather than using Patreon.
