Sidewalk Chalk Messages Force Stephen Miller to Flee Arlington, Put Home Up for Sale

Miller and his wife, podcaster Katie Miller, appear to have quietly fled the neighborhood in recent weeks. Neighbors say they were spotted moving out, and the house officially hit the market on October 7, according to ARLnow. The exit comes after several rounds of peaceful chalk protests on the sidewalk outside their home, with messages like “Stephen Miller is destroying democracy,” “stop the kidnapping,” and “no white nationalism” scrawled in bold letters.

While the chalk eventually washed away, the tension apparently didn’t. Katie Miller lashed out on social media: “To the ‘Tolerant Left’ who spent their day trying to intimidate us in the house where we have three young children: We will not back down. We will not cower in fear. We will double down. Always, For Charlie.”

“To the ‘Tolerant Left’ who spent their day trying to intimidate us in the house where we have three young children: We will not back down. We will not cower in fear. We will double down. Always, For Charlie.”

Ok. Who wants to help unravel this because it is a doozy.

  • Tolerant Left: I guess we are back to emotional appeals and centralism? That ship has sailed, Fascist.

  • Intimidate us in the house where they have three young children: crazy that they think this is acceptable for minorities.

  • Double down: you didn't and won't need us to do something you would always do. Double down would mean staying at home. Stephen Miller I am sure has around the clock security.

  • Charlie: Is this an a reference from the attack by the conservative Mormon community? How odd. Perhaps he is suggesting Mormons are intimidating him with chalk messages on the sidewalk?

lemmy.world

I guess it's technically true since they fled in (irrational) fear.

People with chalk: "Please stop doing what you're doing. It's objectively wrong and we don't like it."

The Millers: "Help! We're under attack! Run away! Run away! Flee for your lives!"

People with chalk: "Whoa, what's in this stuff?"

36

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop making me imagine the already disgusting Stephen Miller in increasingly gross situations now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

"Whoa, what's in this stuff?"

Probably fentanyl. It's apparently in everything these days.

4

Well, whatever works, but I can't believe we've overlooked something so simple. This entire time, all we had to do is use opioid chalk to ward off fascists like salt for evil spirits? Count me in. I'll just make sure to wear a respirator and gloves. Bonus points if encampments form near the wards to scrape them up periodically.

2

Bro, this guy is filthy rich from his millions in Trump crypto. He's fleeing relative poverty.

Arlington is well known for their large and extremely violent Mormon population.

11
lemmy.dbzer0.com

I'm sure a bunch of them called the police. Letting Ezra Benson be such a big part of church leadership really showed their true colors. Same with Oaks. He'll play the "religious freedom" card to try to let the Mormon church have a legal and political path to get greater grip on Utah, Idaho, and Arizona.

4

Oh, I'm an ex-Mormon, I know. It's bad. In my opinion, the true colors should have been apparent since Smith, and especially Young. They've got themselves a full theocracy over there. Which is really fucking bad.

I just asked my kid like an hour ago - at college, for Constitutional Law, no one wants to discusss “current events”

2

What? Lol you'd think every lecture would be about current events. it's probably because deep down they know Constitutional lawyers might not be needed here soon.

Stephen Miller went a step further, calling the chalk messages “terroristic threats” during an appearance on The Sean Hannity Show. The home listing paints a very different picture from the chaos the Millers described: six bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and “luxury living at its finest,” all wrapped in “comprehensive security.” What’s less clear is how a man with no private-sector resume, no known business ventures, and no discernible talent outside of writing xenophobic policy memos, ended up in a multimillion-dollar property in one of Arlington’s wealthiest enclaves.

60

six bedrooms, 6.5 baths

“A home without at least one bathroom for each day of the week is just a hovel.”

– The Millers, probably

17

There was nothing that could be considered a threat in those messages at all.

Unless you consider anyone you don't know knowing where you live a threat. Which is true of absolutely everywhere on the planet if you ever order a delivery of any kind. You almost certainly don't know your UPS, FedEx, or Amazon delivery drivers, and they obviously have your name and address.

13
lemmy.world

Kinda makes sense. Separate bedrooms and bathrooms for his wife already brings the tally to 2. I'm sure the kids never want to see him, so add however many bathrooms so they can avoid his ugly mug. I mean, imagine what that thing looks like in the morning when it oozes out of its vat?

No idea where they got the idea I'm tolerant. I am the exact fucking opposite of tolerant.

Reminds me of my MAGA neighbor calling the cops on me because I called him a fascist and his wife a fat, froggy, little Nazi.

Confront these people. Their little echo chambers tell them their behavior and flags are normal. Show your fucking disapproval.

54

This. I never claimed to be tolerant of hateful bigots. They think just because I'm tolerant of people they deem as deviant, that they deserve the same respect and deference for their hate? Fuck no, and fuck you.

(Not 'you' in particular, but 'you' as in a hypothetical reich-wing dipshit demanding my tolerance)

9

Just be aware of your surroundings ok? I like you, I don't want to see bad things happen to you because the weight of your balls makes it difficult to turn around.

Bro was scared off by some innocent, very mild chalk writing? lol Writing the most bland, generic, milquetoast things imaginable on the sidewalk is not meant to intimidate, Katie. If they wanted to intimidate you and your husband, they would have come with something much more substantial than that.

"We will not back down!!"

(immediately leaves and puts their house up for sale. )

He's probably been getting death threats too. I mean, he honestly should be.

25
lemmy.ca

You would think they would lead with that, at least over mild chalk messages.

7

Maybe they were very pretty death threats done by the neighborhood children in big bubble chalk letters?

5

Do you think that Stephen Miller is going to advertise that...? Not a logical nor a tough guy thing to do. It's not like they told anyone they moved because of the chalk either.

3

But then why move? His dispute isn't local. The chalk can be avoided with a gated community.

1
sh.itjust.works

Personally I would've seen about dropping putrified pigs blood on their front door, a new delivery system each time. Have fun with the smell of rot and death, it's exactly what you wish for.

Edit: Putrified not purified fucking autocorrect! I fucking swear to the Allfather if I ever encounter whatever dipshit suggested likely context as an element for autocorrect im going to bash their empty skull in with a hunk of iron.

7

If the chalk writing on pieces of sidewalk were thrown through the windows, mayyybe, but this?

We're losing any semblance of a nation to this limp fuckery? 🤦🏼‍♂️

5

They were intimidated by words. in chalk. ffs.

edit: Isn't she the one that did the okay symbol and she's also Jewish? White nationalist morons.

48

Queer kids endure slurs hurled at them by groups of adults holding "God Hates F-gs" signs; while Stephen Miller sees two requests and one opinion written in chalk and sells his house. Tell me you grew up in a gated community without telling me you grew up in a gated community.

Katie Miller doing the "So much for the tolerant left" bit has me gasping

27

Can't remember if it was this or another thing, but some conservative nutsack was claiming vandalism, and sleuths were able to tie it to her handwriting.

21

I feel like this was real. If it were a false flag it would have been over the top violent and definitely misspelled.

These were polite requests with intelligible grammar.

People should keep chalking until Miller is holed up inside a bunker. Then circle it with chalk and salt, so that he can't ever leave his crypt.

22

Talks big on social media about not backing down and then backs down and flees.

22

So, they're going to "double down" on the kidnappings, destroying democracy, and white nationalism...for Charlie?

20
lemmy.world

Charlie, the "Christian" and "Martyr" who advocated against feeding the poor, healing the sick and welcoming the immigrant? That Charlie?

Yes, I think it's completely on brand for them to do exactly that. Anyone who can read quotes of Jesus from the Bible and twist them into this kind of agenda has long since abandoned evidence, objectivity, empiricism and rationalism.

They're just shouting nonsense in Elizabethan English at this point because it sounds Bibley to them. I'm not joking. I have heard people say things that way that are definitely not in the Bible. Not that the Bible should be dictating law.

I'm just pointing out that they're not applying a coherent, good-faith doctrine. They're just doing what they want and trying to stretch the flag and the Bible to cover their wrongdoing.

Matthew 25:35-40

English Standard Version

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’

They are fully anti-Christian, and so are the people who follow them. Again, this isn't about Christianity or even religion. I'm pointing out that we have passed the point of hypernormalization, and people are violating their own dogmas to deal with the cognitive dissonance.

Quick search shows she's of Ashkenazi descent. I'm pretty ignorant on the topic, but it looks like there's some back and forth on Ashkenazi are considered people of color or not. Seems like a slap fight of a topic that I don't want to dive in to.

8

I didn't know Stephen Miller is Jewish. My guess is that there is so much funding from Netanyahu that fascist Jews feel protected in the States. Natanyahu is an honorary member of the European far right, and he admitted that if he is ousted, the global right will collapse. There is so much dark money flowing through the right. Non-Jewish far right probably secretly hate the Jews, but money speaks louder.

2

My cursory search said eastern Europe/Mediterranean. 🤷

1

They wanted to be considered white, so they created Zionism so they could be colonizer's too. Then Europe still did not consider them to be white. This is a very watered down simplistic explanation. Oh and the Zionist's like to pretend they're minorities when anyone tries to call out their bad behavior.

it was mentioned in the reddit sub, he doesnt have a job history to afford a house in such affluent neighborhood.

jesus christ... i was absolutely certain this was a satire story like from the onion, but like... multiple news sites are running this story. holy shit lol.

5

Just because multiple news sites run it doesn't mean the source couldn't be satire. There's many examples globally of just that sort of thing happening. This is a good example of the importance of primary sources, rather than secondary or tertiary, or reporting.
