"Decent" is also a matter of taste.

They were very angsty when angsty music was popular. Now they're just old guys trying to hard to connect with a scene that is far too young for their music to be relevant for.

It barely mattered when it was released, but looking at everything else that was released in the 90s in similar genres, there was a lot of anger and angst that those Gen Xers were expressing that resonated with the early millennials, myself included.

There's a gargantuan difference between naming a weapon you're using yourself and doing some performative shit and signing a bomb that you'll never see the repercussions of.
