That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works!

Let this be an object lesson to everyone who thinks they'll be spared because they aren't radical enough.

It is a pretty radical take though. Shooting Nazis has been, historically, effective. And celebrated. I'd go as far as to say not enough Nazis had been shot.

18

Wow... So if you're like this, and still get shit canned for not saying he was literally Jesus, you might as well go full "fuck him I hope he rots on hell"

18

This post is so tame and the reality of the matter is that I'm sure many people don't think its monstrous to fight fascism. And by any means necessary when you have limited options. These people are the literal Nazi party of the modern age, and we are fucking tiptoeing around actually fighting back.

Imagine if someone was driving around with this but it was Trump.

They'd be pulled over repeatedly. Their vehicle would be vandalized.

THE RIGHT DOES NOT LIKE FREE SPEECH

THE RIGHT DOES NOT RESPECT OUR CONSTITUTION

48

For all the talk about cancel culture, they sure love cancel culture. (And yes, I'm aware they've always been pro-cancel.)

The right literally makes open threats constantly. Punisher stickers, 2A threats, promises of retaliation, etc. Should I have been calling their employers this whole time?

Want to turn the anger you're feeling into something productive? Make this moment count and pay the price for free speech: cancel Disney, ESPN, Hulu, and ABC. They're betting you'll trade your free speech for entertainment. Tell them what your priorities are.

Timing is critical! Acting now sends the loudest message to these cowards. Make them more afraid of us than the clown.

I wish that plan was a little more detailed, sounds like the perfect Halloween decoration

Here's one idea: consider reading 1984. The parallels are uncanny and reading it sharpens the mind.

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right. The obvious, the silly, and the true had got to be defended. Truisms are true, hold on to that! The solid world exists, its laws do not change. Stones are hard, water is wet, objects unsupported fall towards the earth's centre. ... Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows."

6

I'm literally reading 1984 as we speak it's pretty fuckin' on the nose.

They'll kill you soon. You see too clearly.

6

For real. Plus you can get all the entertainment you want for free if you sail the high seas 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

5

I had the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO package. Just canceled it and put Jimmy Kimmel as the reason, just his name nothing else.

I had hulu live tv until a year ago. They raised the hell out of those prices so much I couldn't keep it. Instead I brought 1 year of just hulu for the same price as 1 month of live. Just ran out and told them nah. The only media subscription I have is peacock with a teacher's discount so my wife can still watch the news and snl live. I am done with all that stuff, and it's almost crazy that I pay less than my parents did on TV. About the only thing that costs less now for me.

ooo, i didn't think about getting those with our union benefits. that through the PERS portal?

1

I did that and I also logged into the Disney parks app and talked with their chat support to tell them I'm not coming back. I was going to take the cruise too... Nope lol

All the hate for Biden was so vicious. The guy was mild af and barely did anything for them to complain about.

28

That's a feature of fascism. Demonize the opposition no matter how moderate. Define them clearly and dehumanize them.

Erm, achooillee, he tried to give debt relief to poor "people", money personally taken by pet-eating illegal caravans from MY minimum wage paycheck that could have gone to my boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's multi-billionare boss's twelfth yacht fund before trickling down to ME. And he was SLEEPY.

How funny is that republicans will spread bigotry and say it is their free speech, also say "hate speech is free speech" but now they say this is a hate speech and get angry. For the record I did not celebrate his death, I do not feel bad that he is dead but do not celebrate.

Conservatives only consistent value is basically "no one can tell me what to do. I can tell you what to do". In-groups to protect, out-groups to bind

sorry what did disney did? so much happening its hard to keep up

They fired Kimmel to appease Trump and used Kirk as an excuse. And a piss poor excuse at that.

This was inevitable since Colbert was canceled, assassination or not. They were just waiting for an excuse and jumped at the chance. But, with an excuse like this, appologizing statements that were never made, they may as well have said Kimmel ran away to live on a farm. That might have actually been more believable.

Outside of the Leto casting, I liked what I saw in the trailers.

And then Disney bent the knee.

The gif of Switch dying in the Matrix would describe my current interest.

I'll spend those entertainment dollars on any book Jimmy Kimmel happens to have on sale.

5

Granted I didnt see the trailers but I was there for the original. The premise seemed dubious. Get me the logic probe! Mind you now after the Kimmel thing they are dead to me. I won't even pirate.

I'm not too proud to admit that I've been traumatized by a Disney adult. So, while I haven't truly been boycotting Disney, knowing the type of people who support them in general, I wanted no part in that. And then they had the audacity to besmirch Star Wars AND super heroes? FUCK THEM.

But in all seriousness, I was a kid when I realized that Disney stuff gives me really creepy vibes, and I haven't quite shaken that since. I "cut the cord" years ago, so my network TV exposure is basically the channels I receive over the air, and ABC is one of a limited number of selections that I can receive out here in rural America. It's super creepy and irksome that all the news reporters have to have that cheery, overly saccharine disposition to the point where they're practically jovial as they deliver the news that dozens of children were killed in record breaking floods. And then after the next commercial break, they're talking about the latest Disney movie or TV show like that kind of shit is actual news? No thank you.

So, I suppose the wall of text I've just written serves no purpose other than to recognize that Disney, like all companies in the USA, is basically just another automaton to weaponize by the federal government because the people that run them have no spine and honestly seem to believe that they'll be spared if they make Empire happy. Good luck with that.

7

Thank god. It's so hard to tell sometimes.

Edit: So I watched the video, finally. Hamfisted, but I guess that's where we are right now. I hate this timeline where even satire is exhausting.
