Elders were a great source is information when the world didn't change much. Now they know everything about a world that became irrelevant a decade or two ago.

I do not agree with the notion of "wise elders". I don't want to dismiss the wisdom that comes with experience and time, but there's too many other factors to disrupt it.

The boomers have completely destroyed the illusion of age equaling wisdom. They're the generation most responsible for today, and today is a shitshow of unbridled narcissism.
IDK; my father is one or two generations before boomers and what they did was not better.

"Wise Elders" is why we are in this shit show. They "know all" about shit that was wrong even 20 years ago, and hold onto to the feelings of the time (racism) and poison the modern well with those feelings.
