Unreleasable Owls Creating Releasable Owls!
From ANIMA
From running the Greek through a few translations, it sounds like these are the babies of unreleasable Eagle Owls. But the babies will get to go free after they have been properly raised by their parents, just as in the wild!

Όπως και τα περσινά και τα προπέρσινα όταν έλθει η ώρα θα τοποθετηθούν σε κλωβό σταδιακής επανένταξης και θα αποδοθούν στη φύση. :::
Also a pair of unreleasable Barn Owls, with their babies, and a helpful uncle in the background as well!

I love the derpy looks of the Eagle Owl owlets...
The kids look very excited while the parents look mortified! 😆
Greece also likes their owls
They've been using that coin longer than most countries have existed I think! Those are some owl fans!
You would know that of course 😃It's true that a similar coin design has been around a long time and it's only fitting they used it to decorate the greek version of the 1€ coin.

Ooo that Polish coin gets you 3 owls!
The one Mongolian coin is nice in contrasting metals:
But the 2011 one has the full surface area of Ural Owl!
Those are really nice 😍
Bet I won't find these coins in my pocket.
Me either. Closest I've ever had was some Loonies and Toonies.
Why are they unreleasable?
I went back a few months and didn't come across their particular stories. This group seems to treat a very high volume of patients.
Usually they are either unreleasable due to being imprinted in humans or have an injury which would make it difficult for them to feed themselves or stay safe, like permanent wing/eye/ear damage. Since these are able to properly raise owlets, I'm guessing it's injury related as they still have proper owl behaviors.
Don't give them names or you'll be unable to release them too!
(yes I know you're not the caretaker)
The trick is to take care of so many animals there's no time to name them or get attached! 😅
Are eagle owl raising babies as a couple or is there a big brother in the picture?
I believe the Eagle Owls are 2 parents, and 2 babies. Male owls can be up to around 20% smaller than females.
Oh... My antropocentrism lead me to imagine the big one as the male. But it is true that many animals have a bigger female.
Even though she is bigger, you still don't tell her that to her face anyway! 😇
