The house looks more like Jamie Hyneman with his barret to me.

I thought Jamie hyneman was a household name.
How old are you?

Oh, man... sorry it's coming off like that. Since it's called the Humorless Toaster, the main inspiration is Ron Swanson. At least that's what I was going for...

Ah. I think the moustache needs to be wider for that. Also, a label might be in order. Ron Toasterson or something.

42

Mix the two and use a trapezoidal shape for the mouth, perhaps?

4

I want to start a fanfic rumor that Ron is related to Ricky from Trailer Park Boys. Lol

1

Yeah you got the mustache in that realm. I don't think it was intentional, but Hitler really did ruin the shortened mustache look.

20

Have you tried a design where it has a mustache for a mouth? As another lemming described, wider and wavy at the bottom. And then it can move up and down when it talks?

Edit: quick and dirty mockup. This would be my vote

15

Upvote for Hitler. OP, I don't know if intended, but a certain German politician was the first thing coming to mind

Hitler's mustache was initially longer, however there was a decision to trim it. There are various theories as to why it was trimmed and shaped into the toothbrush as we recognise it for today.

3

I think the second one. Assuming the middle bit is a nose, fewer details make for better deadpan toaster expression

No it's too wide. That is a J Jonah Jameson mustache if ever I done seen one.

1

still too close. the toaster has a wide face so proportionally it feels like a hitler mustache

Charlie Chaplin got done dirty. He was rocking that stache for decades earlier.

Some of Hitler's bodyguards said that Hitler was a fan of Chaplin. There's speculation (but not evidence) that he borrowed it because he liked Chaplin

5

I always heard that it was a common style for the working class, and Hitler was trying to ingratiate himself to them.

Depending on what you're going for, 1 and give them a German accent. Otherwise 2.

Definitely #1. But you can't ever make any reference to it looking like Big H in the game. Just make it so people say "... is that supposed to be Hitler?"

16
lemmy.world

Thank you, yeah was going for more of a Ron Swanson, but now I totally see how people can see The Notorious H.I.T.

Who let out 426?? I thought I was supposed to be in a windowless room!

::: spoiler reference ICYMI, the joke is about SCP-426 :::

7

Never heard of that site, but it was very interesting to learn about myself.

4

God that is I'm one terrifyingly upbeat SCP while still being very anomalous.

Edit: forgot to follow my theme (read my SCP entry to understand I guess)

Ever seen Red Dwarf? There was a talking toaster in that.

6

Yes! I had forgotten his name! Haha wow, I need to go watch that show again, it's been a long time.

2

What is the personality of the toaster?

One looks like your friend's dad when he comes home and finds everyone has not only left on all the lights in the house but have also left the fridge open

Other one looks like a guy in early 20s that is on a bus and some fucker is doom scrolling tiktok loud without headphones

I'd say they're both great but you gotta decide what kind of cranky toaster you're going with

4

#2 because it allows you to later give them a mustache (#1), which is funny but the toaster isn't amused.

4

I kinda like #1, but as the mustache being his mouth and the other kind being formed into crossed arms

4

Get it to the corners of the lips and thick, you got a Tom Selleck, just around the edge, you have a Ron Swanson, 2cm past, you're into Fu Manchu territory

4

#1 reminds me of Cartman (you could lean into that), #2 is more neutral and looks more angry

1
  1. But give them a super stereotypical American accent and make unpromted references to how American they are.
1

I scrolled through all the comments looking for a Red Dwarf reference. Thank you! :-)
