I had a moment last week where I stopped before I consciously recognized a snake. The poor thing was dead, but it reminded me that I'd read about this happening before. However, since I know about it, I could be reading into my response. When I've asked other people, a couple have been like "oh, I think I had that happen once." But that's all anecdotes I've biased by telling them the theory.

Nevertheless, I enjoy the anecdotes, and I'm also curious if other people think it's real.

When Fejzo returned to work—now at the University of California, Los Angeles—she told her boss that she wanted to work on H.G. “She started laughing in my face,” Fejzo recalled. At the time, H.G. research was not considered a viable career path. She accepted a role studying ovarian cancer instead, and spent her free time collecting data on hyperemesis.

In 2018, Fejzo and her colleagues published a paper identifying a gene linked to H.G., which codes for a hormone called GDF15. In 2022, she published another study which confirmed the link between H.G. and the gene. A third study, published the following year in collaboration with an international team, showed how the hormone predisposed certain women to H.G. Two and half decades after experiencing H.G., she had found its cause.

It's a weird raccoon, but when did people first notice him and where did they start posting about him?

Had a relative say he was going to take it as a treatment for his ADHD and he'd read some articles. This relative is all over the place with legit ideas mixed with ones I don't think have the scientific backing. I thought about looking it up like I usually would and just felt tired (there are so many fake sites and articles about medical stuff to sift through...). But someone here maybe already researched it or has actual background on the subject? For all I know, this is a completely well known and mundane treatment for it.

A Somali U.S. citizen, Mubashir, was arrested by federal immigration officers in Cedar-Riverside Tuesday during a mass enforcement.

In the video, a federal officer is seen putting Mubashir in a choke hold and forcing him onto his knees in the snow as he was on his way to get food. Mubashir said he told officers multiple times that he is a U.S. citizen and asked if he could show them his I.D. Officers ignored him, dragged him in the snow and pushed him into a car as witnesses yelled and blew whistles, according to the video of his arrest.

Video purportedly showed two federal agents pulling the woman out of Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Early Learning Center at 2550 W. Addison St. about 7 Wednesday morning.

At a rally Wednesday evening at Northcenter Town Square, elected officials voiced frustration with immigration enforcement in the city. Ald. Matt Martin (47th) said the parents from the school had arranged legal representation for Galeano, though they were unsure where she had been taken.

“If ever you feel despair in the coming days, look around you,” Martin said. “There were four [federal agents], but there are hundreds of us. ”
