What niche reddit community do you want to see find a place on the fediverse?
Personally i'm looking forward to seeing twobestfriendsplay, arkhamasylum, whowouldwin, and respectthreads, on here.

Comments499Personally i'm looking forward to seeing twobestfriendsplay, arkhamasylum, whowouldwin, and respectthreads, on here.
Waiting on r/linuxmasterrace tbh
Linux gaming already has 3k subs
Maybe they’ll also find a different joke than “arch btw.”
You mean like this instance?
iusearch.fyi
Agreed. The irony is strong there lol
r/woodworking would be nice.
I agree! Maybe a few maker communities (or a single maker community with tags)
I found https://lemmy.one/c/[email protected]
Big anime titties, medium anime titties, banned in Australia anime titties, and monster girls.
Even the mostly-SFW art collections such as r/ImaginaryCharacters and the rest of the Imaginary Network will be missed. What would it take to steal the top 500 posts from each to kickstart art collectionns on Lemmy?

also let's not forget 2balkan4you
Absolutely
r/outside. That place is such a needed mental break.
r/liveaudio r/mixingandmastering r/bitwig r/ableton r/ethereum
all of the Linux subreddits I browse + r/selfhosted, r/homelab, r/datahoarder.
all of these seem like easy fits for the fediverse.
There are already similar communities for the last three ones:
Not that they are the only ones, but the ones I've seen.
Try out lemmy.studio
You may need to setup a community or two though.
Oh shit, am I a niche communities redditor already feeling anxious about losing all my anonymous internet peeps.
r/vxjunkies - Although that sub is most fun when randos stumble onto it and get confused. Which might not work as well in Federation world.
r/worldbuilding, r/loremasters
r/TolkeinFans. Discussing the legendarium on a scholarly level.
r/nsfwworldbuilding (which is a great place for thoughtful, mature, intellectual conversations about really creative ideas like quantum pregnancy and all male Orc societies ... and THEN pictures of nude bee women leaking honey from their boobs).
r/magicthecirclejerking, r/linuxcirclejerk, r/whowouldcirclejerk - these subs are my go to "I need to laugh" subs.
r/AskHistorians. What can replace this awesomeness... like ever?
r/ShermanPosting. Make this angry leftist feel like a burning patriot.
r/LateStageCapitalism. I need my angry leftist anticap memes.
r/StableDiffusion
r/Swahili? It's a beautiful language.
r/ImaginaryDerelicts... Here is a hauntingly beautiful rabbit hole for you to fall down.
r/PrintSF... it's literally how I find new books to rea...listen to. I consume audiobooks at a terrifying rate.
r/Podcasts because see above.
r/Qubes. I like my linux like I like my lovers, paranoid and with DID.
r/HomeNetworking
r/AskNetSec and r/OpSec
r/FifthWorldProblems and it's multiverse of affiliates, including r/MadMudMen and r/EnglightenedBirdMen
r/Daddit. I posted my "Here we are at a playground for the first time" pictures 12 years ago... I was looking forward to reposting those alongside the graduation pictures in 4 years.
r/WitchesVsPatriarchy. Yes, I'm a cishet white man, fuck the patriarchy and fuck toxic masculinity.
r/ChaoticGood. This sub makes me happy.
Is there seriously no r/WhoWoulWin equivalent? That boggles me.
We also REALLY need something like r/findareddit, if there isn't such a thing yet.
we have that here https://lemmy.ml/c/[email protected] you can search communities using this link https://lemmy.ml/communities
now the only problem bring people to using lemmy
Since I posted this I've found that and some of the others. But man... I'm gonna miss VX Junkies.
i will miss noncredibledefence, stellaris and buttcoin too if reddit drop free api for third-party apps. and i also dont think people on that sub care about reddit drama currently
Have found NonCredibleDefense.
There are a few pages available that list communities and instances. These are good:
Finding out about new podcasts is something I’ll really miss about Reddit. I feel like that’s not even that niche/small, surely one will pop up soon!
some of the more or less interesting ones i came across...
r/InternetIsBeautiful r/AlpineLinux r/CoOpGaming r/antiXLinux r/devuan r/gamedeals r/privacyhardware r/opensourcegames r/FreeGaming r/fossdroid r/linux4noobs r/commandline r/channelsofyoutube r/DeepIntoYouTube r/ChannelWatch r/EatCheapAndHealthy r/Foodforthought r/initFreedom r/irc r/KeepOurNetFree r/linux_devices r/suckless r/techsupport r/unknownvideos r/usenet r/youtubeclassics r/suggestmeabook r/thinkpad r/DistroTube r/odysee r/lbry r/peertube r/FOSSPhotography r/DepthHub r/TrueFilm r/socialscience r/AskSocialScience r/UpliftingNews r/LinuxPhones r/startpages r/terminal_porn r/nodrm r/Antifeatures r/FreeAudio r/listentothis (separated by genre)
I've found some of them:
Would love to see about starting up something like r/gamedeals once I get the hang of this place. I'm always on the lookout anyways.
I subscribed to /c/gamedeals and /c/[email protected] the other day!
(Not 100% if I've linked those up right)
![email protected] and ![email protected] would be the "proper" way to link AFAIK
This seems way too unlikely to happen, but r/askhistorians. It's an exceptionally well moderated (if a bit overzealous) community that allows for both the average person to ask seemingly impossible, very specific questions as well as academics to express their knowledge and passion for those very same super specific topics they find fascinating; but have difficulty finding an audience to listen to them in their day to day lives.
I'm really hoping for some quality archaeology/anthropology/history content as well, I started [email protected] for a kind of catch-all community (and yes, that's the best name I could come up with)
Non ironically, r/fossdroid would easily find a way into the fediverse
Actually a few, but to list some
r/PublicDomainr/MirrorsEdgeAesthetics
r/MovieSuggestionsr/LostMediarMediumReadingsr/RockinTheClassicsr/REgamesr/CarHacking could also be good
Maybe~~ r/iwatchedanoldmovie ~~ Some game specifics sub's like r/MetalGearSolid, r/MetalSlug and r/HalfLife, r/moddergearsolid is a particularly obscure one.
Most of the console modding subs like r/360hacks, r/WiiUHacks which is going dark, r/PS3Homebrew and so on.
From my own feed that's about it, with the exception of some piracy ones like rCemuPiracy r/LinuxCrackSupport and r/SteamDeckPirates, among others. And a couple in particular that push a bit closer to the work unsafe side, so those wouldn't be here.
r/buttcoin, every time I feel bad about myself I like reading about crypto fails to remind myself that I could have made even worse decisions.
r/noncredibledefense, makes the horror of the war not far from me a bit more bearable
r/degoogle r/linuxmasterrace r/linuxfornoobs r/Linux r/whatplantisthis r/eattheweeds
A couple of my hobbies that I've seen barely getting started here... photography and mycology. There's a lot to explore in both without getting wrapped up in religion or politics.
https://mander.xyz/c/mycology
mander.xyz is an instance with a bunch of science based communities, and they have a mycology one.
I'm actually subscribed to [email protected], it's the only community I've found so far. However it sounds like I need to check out the other communities at mander.xyz to see what they offer!
not a niche but i find lack of foodie and cooking communities on lemmy disturbing, also pcmr (isn't it too elitist for lemmy?), /r/sffpc, /r/mffpc
I'm trying to get a SFFPC community going, if you want to check it out! https://sh.itjust.works/c/sffpc Just heads up that there's not much happening right now, but I'm hoping that changes soon!
thanks, will join for sure!:)
Cats! Where are the cats?
r/AmITheAsshole and r/BestofRedditorUpdates. I love the drama.
r/HobbyDrama or a more hobby oriented history community. Also r/AskHistorians or similar, although that one will take more effort and setting up than simply making the community. I personally use Reddit to see a couple memes and then read both of the subs I mentioned. I like seeing people who are passionate about a thing talk about the history of that thing.
r/ultralight, r/myog and r/wildernessbackpacking
You can tell what I'm into.
r/Aviation and r/KerbalSpaceProgram equivalents would be welcomed by me.
Conlangs!
I'm hoping that some of the writing and image sharing subreddits make their way on here. Specifically: r/AbandonedPorn/, r/AccidentalRenaissance/, r/ImaginarySliceOfLife/, and r/LetsNotMeet/
The whole imaginary network is gorgeous. I wonder if we could convince them to work here as well.
I will really miss the imaginary network (slice of life, garden, interiors, etc).

Please can we have a "BuyNothing" or "Freecycle" Comunity? One for each city/region/area would be better but If needed we could have just one where post titles contain the location (SacramentoCA) before anything else. Then sorting / Searching would weed out the unwanted due to distance items.
I feel it probably makes more sense for location-specific instances to have their own communities for these things. So for example, have a Lemmy instance for London, e.g. london.lemmy.uk. Then have ~[email protected] community, which is for Freecycle posts in London.
Of course anyone from other instances can join, it just seems to make sense that something so location specific should be in a location specific Lemmy instance (of which there are a growing number).
How can I find out if there is an instance for Sacramento?
At this point I don't see one. Lemmy is still quite small, probably less than 10,000 active users. I guess my comment was idealistic rather that realistic for right now.
There is a list of instances here: https://join-lemmy.org/instances
Also one of the instances has created a community browser that lets you search communities across instances, but I haven't seen anything freecycle related: https://browse.feddit.de/
Except maybe https://slrpnk.net/c/zerowaste?
I think your instance lets anyone create a community, so you could create a freecycle community for all until there are enough users to support regional ones.
/r/talesfromtechsupport /r/maliciouscompliance and /r/prorevenge always give me a chuckle.
/r/futurama
/r/3Dprinting
/r/swift.
A couple, I think. WoTshow is one I really liked. And exatheist is a tiny sub where a bunch of people who were once atheists of all different religions talk religious philosophy.
It'd be great to have an actual place that isn't just Christians screaming that LGTBQ+ people are of the devil and need to burn, and at the same time not have edgelord atheists decrying that they have figured out everything and are smarter than everyone else
Bingo. That's what r/exatheist is for me. Both extremes usually get talked down by the mods who tend to be fairly even-keel. Slightly undermoderated (both sides get away with just enough to not feel like anyone is getting stifled... as long as they don't go full-insult)
The other sub I like (but only lurk) is radicalchristian. I'm not Christian, but I love the way they look at the world and their religion.
In that regard, /r/radicalchristianity would be a good one, as they’re lefty Christians (you know, like Jesus himself!)
Yes! WotShow and LOTR_on_Prime. I feel like I'm the only one who liked both shows haha
And exatheist does sound interesting
I tried so hard with LOTR. Especially because I saw how much hate WoT got (despite WoT now being my favorite show, and 6 or 7 rewatches in) and I wanted to give it its fair shake. It didn't work for me, and I'll probably be late to the game for S2, but I don't think all the hate for either was justified.
Since nobody else had (in my network) I added ![email protected] and ![email protected]. If I don't see a community I want, I plan to try to add one. I'd like to drive enough activity in lemmy that I don't mind losing reddit.
Just joined :)
I've seen a few people mention fighting games on here (e.g. Street Fighter). I'd be interested in that. The number of gameplay clips people would be sharing make me think it ought to be its own instance, though.
Also:
Some communities have been created for those, but don't seem to have gained much popularity.
I've created https://kbin.social/m/mechanicalkeyboards, but there's nothing there yet
How would you access this from Lemmy? Does there need to be explicit federation?
I'm on lemmy.one, and I've tried https://lemmy.one/c/[email protected], but it doesn't seem to do anything but give me a 404
EDIT: Never mind, it seems something happened in the background, and the link now works for me.
I'm trying to get it on lemmy.ml and doing the same kind of link as you and I'm also getting a 404. It doesn't seem to be updating like yours is, but I will check back I guess. Did you do anything different while waiting for it to work?
I think I went to the search function and searched for ![email protected] Some time after that, the link started to work.
That's worked for me before on something else on a different lemmy instance, but it doesn't seem to be working for me this time. I wonder if it's because it's kbin? Not sure.
Hmm, I tried from lemmy.ml as well, as you're on that instance, and it doesn't seem to work from there. Some federation issue due to load maybe?
Possibly. I won't bug them too much right now, I'm sure there's a lot to handle.
I've set up [email protected]
It's probably not practical to have subs for individual games just yet though.
Visual Novels would be nice. And maybe a place to talk about my biggest guilty pleasure... Porn games 🤡
Count me in too
Hey. Fav kuudere?
I like a lot of em but nothing can beat Tachibana Kanade from Angel Beats
Would be nice to have it with all the weirdos Lolo defenders/arguing age of consent filtered out.
Yeah that stuff needs to be heavy moderated because of laws. Probably the reason why the instances here so far don't allow pornographic communities. Nobody wants the liability.
Pros: Free cooling!
Cons: 64 kb/s uplink...
Well our instance allows NSFW content as long as its marked and legal. [No CSAM or Loli]
r/kamenrider, r/supersentai or any of the tokusatsu subs for that matter
I really enjoy r/archery hope they make it here
Honestly its just my local city subreddit, and the community for my favorite 2nd tier sports team. It has barely enough users even on reddit though, so it probably won't survive with a smaller overall user base.
Big city communities. Like Milwaukee (could fit into Midwest social)
Where's all the game developer communities?
Most of these are on Reddit, but there may be a few that I thought could be specific, but not as niche as some of the ones on reddit. (like no community just for one game)
Van conversion/van life
Birding
Camping and hiking
AmITheAsshole
Each state in the US
Longevity
Kindlescribe/e-ink
RestlessLeg (or a chronic condition community)
Woodworking (bigger builds)
Carving (smaller builds, not furniture or big stuff)
Nutrition
NextFuckingLevel
JRPG
Turn-Based RPGs
Action/Adventure Games
Motorcycles, Synthesizers and Metal music/memes.
I'm down for a moto community!
There are several groups on reddit that I have enjoyed, and am going to really miss unless I find some fediverse versions. It's the agony columns, all the ones where people ask for advice. Like r/AITA, and r/RomanticAdvice. There are so many of them.
What are some similar ones in this platform?
randnsfw 😏
I miss the retro gaming and computing subreddits, and I miss the circlejerk subs, they're comedy gold.
r/Fatsquirrelhate
It's exactly what you think it is.
r/Arduino!
/r/FreeGameFindings
Why is there no /c/TIL ?
r/homeassistant r/houseplants r/ebikes r/surfing r/golang
there's [email protected] for homeassistant
malelivingspace, blacksmithing, fishing, hunting, calligraphy, archery, wma, preppersales
r/ipod The iPod modding community is alive and well and I love it.
r/NixOS
along the lines of fitness, something like r/bodyweightfitness, r/weightroom and r/bodybuilding would be great too!
MLB, NFL, NBA, etc. communities
I’ve setup an instance focused on some niche topics and hobbies, there’s not much there yet but here they are if anyone wants to check them out:

I want to see r/conlangs migrating.
It's the only subreddit that I'm still contributing in good faith with. The community is beehaw levels of nice, and the mods are surprisingly competent and decent people, not trashy like the r/linguistics ones.
The only issue with r/conlangs is that it's in Reddit. But if they were to migrate, frankly? I'd be glad to help them out. Perhaps even donate to whatever instance they create.
r/oneorangebraincell, r/standardissuecat, r/GuiltyGear, r/CuratedTumblr
r/anarchychess. Where else would I get seventeen unoriginal en passant jokes a day?
Forgot about Hydrohomies too
Great call! Just made one @Tardigrades
/r/sweden /r/languagelearning /r/svenska /r/girlgamers and /r/witchesvspatriarchy
I really hope /r/xbiking makes its way here! I'm addicted to seeing their creations.
Why don't you put up one yourself? :)
I'd feel inadequate as a mod of such a community. I use a bike as my main means of transportation, and do some cycle touring, but I'm not much of a wrench, I only own one bike, and it's a pretty vanilla entry-level hybrid.
I was thinking of maybe starting a more general purpose community for all things cycling. I haven't been able to find any so far.
I found one that is quite small and about bicycle mechanics. I am willing to help if someone starts a general bicycling community or if no-one starts it I may think about starting one. For long distance cycling there's ![email protected]
I hope that the main Xenoblade subreddit can have a faction over here. There's lots of interesting comments there.
/r/pencils It's not weird I like pencils!
humansbeingbros is my wholesome dose, so to me that'd be essential.
Oh and also cozyplaces. It's quite fun and interesting to see how people make their living environment quite so cozy and enjoyable.
I would like to see r/stunfisk, its the main pokeon subreddit of the smogon single battles format, but it would be really cool if the pokemon subs would get together and make their own lemmy instance
obscuremedia, tipofmytongue, gameboy, consolerepair
r/dmacademy
I would like r/autism
r/vinyl, r/audiophile, r/dankchristianmemes, r/steamdeck, r/neovim, r/bash, r/awk, r/ambientmusic
r/LittleBigAdventure, r/OpenMW, r/RimWorld, r/Thrive, r/adhdmeme, and r/WarAndPeas (whose user has a mastodon account too).
Yo, thrive is finally on steam. Been watching the (lack of) development of that since Spore
I want r/aquariums, r/plantedtank, r/walstad, r/[the city I live in], r/[state if live in], r/mylittlepony, r/myilttlehmmmm, r/hmmmm, these are just the ones im missing the most.
Was gonna say r/fantasy but I probably spend more time on r/Malazan anyway.
All of the Warhammer related subreddits!
I wouldnt describe it as niche, but Pathfinder 1st Edition.
I would like to see:
r/NoSleep r/skincareaddiction r/math r/cpp r/python r/gonewildaudio
If anyone is looking, I made !amateur_radio (https://sh.itjust.works/c/amateur_radio).
It's pretty damn new, but the only reason I keep popping back on reddit is to go to r/HyruleEngineering. The problem is that it relies on the easiness of reddit hosting the video for these short clips which lemmy currently couldn't handle. Though, people there are dedicated enough to their builds and information that they would probably be the ones who would make burner youtube accounts to upload things.
Peertube is a video site that is part of the Fediverse.
I know, but I'm unsure of current environments where they want a lot of sign ups just for very short videos and then possibly not much else. I would assume they want more curated type videos and not sub ~1min clips. Though my reasoning is that it should be the option with the least effort to get the community to move over, when I'm sure they all already have google accounts and use youtube. But I actually don't know!
Also r/DatalsBeautiful
[email protected]
Would love to see r/hobbydrama, r/nosleep, and r/popculturechat
It seems like [email protected], and [email protected] are relatively dead communities (at least on the lemmy.ml) instance. I'm hoping we'll see more discussions happening over there in the near future.
A lot of game specific subreddits - r/Undertale, r/CelesteGame, r/HadesTheGame, r/DeadCells, r/Terraria...
r/mademesmile
yeah i haven't seen much fitness stuff on here. i'd miss r/gainit
r/hotpeppers
I grow super hots and love looking at people's gardens.
Hey I made it, no content yet though. Come over and share your super hots! https://discuss.tchncs.de/c/hotpeppers ![email protected]
I may kiss you right on the mouth.
genshin_impact, honkaistarrail, and wildrift
Knives would be great.
r/knifeclub
Thanks
I’ve been mindlessly scrolling through r/M43 which is basically a sub to share and discuss Micro Four Thirds photography. I’d love for a community like that to show up here!
I had no idea that subreddit existed… if you start a m4/3 community here I’ll join and submit some content.
I’d love to, but I wouldn’t be able to submit that much content as of now. Currently saving for my first M4/3. When I get it, and if there’s no such community, I’d 100% join it
I'm in a few different subs on Reddit, but the ones id love to see the most here would probably be:
r/stellaris r/crusaderkings r/kotor r/fireemblem and r/talesfromtechsupport
r/knightsofpineapple r/sbubby r/brandnewsentence r/cyberdeck r/Iteration110Cradle r/functionalprint
Quite niche, but communities for specific games (Path of Exile, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn) as well as audiophile subs (audiophile, budget audiophile).
Not much of an audiophile myself, but communities based around specific hardware are great when looking to make a purchase
I need my guitar pedal homies
Me too! :( Is two of us enough to create it?
If you make one, I'll subscribe!
I found a Path of Exile one: https://kbin.social/m/PoE
It's empty at the moment, and the microblog's collecting #poe hashtags as in Edgar Allan... but at least it's there.
Thank you! I found an arpg one but it seems dead, unfortunately.
r/superbowl
lemmy.ml/c/watercolor is my new little home. People, come join!
r/askscience, r/GraphicsProgramming, r/Throwers
I was going to say /r/ExperiencedDevs, but it looks like they made an official instance at programming.dev. So that's pretty great.
not a niche, but not on lemmy -> r/Pizza !!!
r/BarefootRunning
r/cheesemaking
r/freebsd
r/zfs
Not sure if it's niche, but more UK based communities are needed. Not sure the place is big enough for city by city or even county. But UK politics, casual, sport, etc...
there is a UK lemmy instance now: https://lemmy.org.uk
[email protected] for casual [email protected] for politics and news etc
There's [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] (maybe more)
not that niche, but /r/globaloffensive for tournament updates and results
r/YoutubeHaiku
I plan to create this community on my instance (once I figure out how to get it running)
Weird ones like the ones about the letter wars, eg r/theLetterH
And generally communities about movies and tv shows, eg dedicated series subreddits
/r/internet_funeral. Probably my favorite sub on reddit.
I spend way too much time on r/coffee. A lot of people think we are pretentious snobs (which can be true sometimes) but we're just stuck in the neverending pursuit of the "perfect cup."
Also r/linguistics and r/mathematics are fun to read, especially when new papers are published and there's a discussion going on
r/mbti 16 mbtis
r/infp
I’m sure I will think of more but r/plex jumps to mind
Hobbydrama It was kinda interesting hearing about the inner workings and happenings in hobby's you never even heard about.
Anything Lego-related, really!
It's not a community but a bot. i want u/WanderingDwarfMiner on here :)
FOR ROCK AND STONE!
I'm surprised there isn't a c/wtf yet..
Oooer
r/RimWorld, and I would love to see r/KGATLW migrate over.
/r/trackers and /r/opensignups. the private torrent community is thriving.
I have a lot of niche interests I would love to see made, like OSR ttrpgs, 3DS hacks, iPads, emulation, cargo bikes, and Note taking.
r/BestofRedditorUpdates
r/coaxedintoasnafu
r/DeTrashed
r/dumbphones
r/digitalminimalism
r/ForgottenWeapons
r/fucklawns
r/OpenSignups
r/QAnonCasualties
r/IllegalLifeProTips
Not trying to start any political debates. These are just some of the subreddits that I would like to see as communities here on Lemmy. Feel free to comment if some of these exist and I'll update my comment.
Ah, just realized that almost none of these are actually niche. Whoops.
/R/credibledefense I love the deep dives into defense procurement. Really hoping to find a community like that. I would make my own but I have no idea how to start and I don't have the background needed to be a good moderator (Or whatever the lemmy equivalent would be) in that kind of topic.
Cycling communities, specifically the non-judgemental welcoming r/xbiking.
r/grandorder Probably my most used subreddit. Also r/hololive and r/nijisanji
Is there a way for following non-Lemmy communities of the Fediverse on Lemmy? I think it would really be useful and would fill the gap. Also, communities like guppe groups are quite active.
LOINUX!
Ham radio already exists, but I hope it blows up.
Powerlifting would be great. It has a decent following on reddit. I created the community here so we'll see if people move over.
Does anyone play Slay the Spire? There's a cool community driven game going on, on the subreddit and it'd be cool to bring it over here too.
Definitely r/kitler
A second one I forgot, is the livestreaming stuff. I did make c/livestreaming, but I will admit guiltily browsing drama of r/LivestreamFails at times. Was awful most of the time, but guilty pleasures are just that. I am a vtuber so I like some of those subs, but that's even more niche then the niche that is livestreaming, so that's a tall ask for here.
r/welding
r/sorceryofthespectacle Absolute schizposting by the weirdest degenerates I've ever met. Sometimes they make me laugh, and sometimes they are quite profound. Often though its amphetamine/psychosis/C-PhilosophyDegree fueled rants.
CastIron was one of the more niche subs in my list. Lots of good information for taking care of cast iron pans there.
r/RainWorld, r/ThinkPad, r/Framework, r/NonCredibleDefense, r/SpaceXMasterRace (this one isn't really about spacex), r/197
Found the rainworld player
if moon was decentralized she wouldn't have collapsed :(
r/girlgamers! r/JRPG! r/programmingcirclejerk (really, any of the circlejerks are a riot)! maybe r/sneerclub?
There is [email protected] or [email protected] if you program in rust lol
Geez, an active metalmemes.
Properly moderated morbidquestions
I'm trying to get an edc branch going, as well as one for knives. It's an uphill thing just like starting a new sub would be though.
/r/hotpeppers
A VR (virtual reality) focused community would be nice, it has a very strong community across devices all things considered.
r/shortcuts is a favorite of mine
r/instax r/polaroid r/amputee r/tuckedinkitties
lemmy.ml/c/watercolor is my new little home. People, come join!
Well good news for you. tuckedinkitties
Yay!
r/Terraform would be awesome
/r/eurovision, although the season just ended so it would be a bit quiet right now anyway.
/r/fantasyfootball, that season is just about to kick off so would be good timing
If you'd asked this a day earlier I'd have said /r/casualUK but we now have [email protected]
And the various specific craft subs. Currently we're posting all craft projects to [email protected] but sooner rather than later I think it'll have to be split up into individual crafts because if there's one thing crafters love even more than the actual making stuff, it's showing off the stuff we made.
@thegiddystitcher @Captain_Pieces The Fediverse is more than Lemmy. Maybe there is a way you can follow chirp.social/@eurovision
Oh yes, I'm on Mastodon too and there was a ton of Eurovision content in there (I even ran into someone from the tag in real life in the arena, what are the chances of that?!)
But it'd be nice to eventually have a community here too for those longer discussions, that's all 🙂
(plus interacting across the different services is still a little bit dodgy as evidenced by your tagging the OP of this thread, but I'm sure that'll get better over time)
https://kbin.social/m/[email protected] is a thing (I'm trying to make it more of a thing, but this is June😭)
Just stumbled across [email protected] as well in case you've not seen that one yet!

Id love a community for motorcycles, haven't seen much in the way of automotive on Lemmy yet.
r/klippers would be a nice addition
/r/talesfromtechsupport /r/maliciouscompliance and /r/prorevenge always give me a chuckle.
r/zillowgonewild, r/mcmansionhell, r/lastfm, and r/humansarespaceorcs have always been fun places for me. History-centric and hyperlocal neighborhood-level subs, too.
I also like most of the circlejerk subs. Maybe straightforward communities here will be less self-serious, thus making [blank]jerk counterparts unnecessary.
r/noncredibledefense. We need some excellent spaces to shitpost about the MIC, and a space where we can collectively laugh at the 2nd army of the world getting it's ass kicked by the poorest nation in Europe
r/theculture
r/HighQualityGifs
r/rockectleague
HQG will be a great addition and given that they were some of the biggest content creators I'd be surprised if they didn't.
The niche anime ones. Where's my bros at r/Kaguya_sama? r/SpyxFamily? r/swordartonline? etc?
Though I'm happy that I've seen one niche anime community today and that's Bocchi the Rock's.
Those country ones, I'm in r/sweden and r/korea
r/shittysuperpowers is pretty fun. People trying to make useless, or, preferably, even worse, superpower, and people in comments trying to make it actually OP
r/powerwashingporn, it was my first Reddit experience, which really showed me that this website had a specialized community for everything. That fact is what got me hooked...
From a quick scroll through my subscriptions I think these are the ones I'm most looking forward to: r/dynastyff, r/futebol, all the cat related ones, r/diwhy, r/atbge, r/gtbae, r/outoftheloop, r/unraid, r/writingprompts, r/youdontsurf.
A fellow fantasy player, ok that's two of us now we just need about a thousand more.
If we get 8-10 more we can create a lemmy league :)
There is already a writing prompts community!
Awesome! Subscribed :)
Textbooks! (/r/textbook) :)
/r/handwriting and /r/ggggg
NFL
Dallas Cowboys
90's Alternative Music
Silly things like r/nononoyes or r/musicaljenga
FGC fighting game community
r/simpsonsshitposting
Same! I wonder if it'd make sense to just share shitposts from the sub and bortposting here (with proper credit)
/r/sorceryofthespectacle,/r/theoryofpropaganda,/r/darkgnosis,/r/hermeticism,/r/alternativehistorywitchesvspatriarchy, runefactory, nostalgia, Breaking Benjamin
SquaredCircle, gotta talk my wrestling
word. I recall their being an inactive lemmy community, but I can't even find that now.
Any show or game specific sub, like r/darlsouls or r/onepunchman. It will be a while before enough people are on Lemmy to justify making a dedicated place for them
Streaming related communities for episode discussion!
/r/relationships
Already made [email protected] , here's hoping some players start floating in.
I'll definitely miss r/framework the most, the community on the subreddit is awesome
Trueanon
I wish there was an Arab focused community. But it seems my fellow Arabs don't care much for open source or the privacy issues of Reddit.
I also wish to see more specialized sciences as communities, where they discuss advanced topics.
I've gone ahead and created [email protected] and [email protected]. Would like to have focused subs for individual fighting games (Skullgirls, ThemsFightinHerds), but that's probably not practical yet. Generally I'd just like to look up whatever game I'm playing right now and find a community for it.
Would also like to see /mahjong as well, may set that up myself later.
Eurovision is probably the one I'll miss the most from Reddit. The people I talked to their were real chill.
For r/wholesomeyuri there is [email protected]
r/huginn
I am waiting for r/mechmarket or something similar for mechanical keyboards stuff and artisans
/r/RidersChallenge
What a wonderful sub.
AnimalsBeingDerps IdiotsOnFire LifeProTips TodayILearned ThatLookedExpensive JustRollledIntoTheShop WeWantPlates
listentothis
trailers
all the music genre subs
plus a https://reddit.musicplayer.io for lemmy
/manwha /progressionfantasy
I'd like to see r/adhdwomen, r/bropill, r/SantaMuerte, r/oldhagfashion, r/MensLib, r/Vaush, r/knitting, and just about all of the cat subs.
I'm new to the whole fediverse thing, but - if you've got an interest in a specific, uh... Sub? Fed? Community? Why not create one yourself?
/r/ifyoulikeblankNot really niche, but CFB has the best community.
I also love OSRS and wouldn’t mind seeing a Drum Corps community as well.
He means r/twobestfriendsplay it's a sub for a YouTube channel that doesn't make videos anymore but keeps going as a chill anime/gaming culture sub.
Podman
r/Heraldry
I miss /r/me_irl and /r/shitpostxiv so I still check Reddit for them sometimes
I’d love to see stuff related to linux tech I use and obscure video game discussions. Some of my favs were:
bspwm oxenfree edgerunners
And quite a few others, but those are off the top of my head atm.
