Slim people, how do you avoid oversetting?

Slim people, how do you avoid oversetting?

How do you people do it. Do you have extreme self control or is there some kind of unlimited food cheat code the rest of us don’t know of.

No matter how much I try I just can’t help NOT eating a random ice cream or two (emphasis on the two)

I don't like the feeling of being overly full, but I also eat kinda fast, so how full I feel can lag behind how full I am. So I'll eat until I'm like 80% full and wait for my brain to catch up. That seems to work for me.

Smoking cigarettes and drinking copious amounts of alcohol keeps you from eating too much, but that approach comes with its own set of problems.

Kinda like sawing off your leg and eating it to stay alive in the desert.

I find it helpful to actually count the kcal. This also made me aware which snack is basically a whole meal 😅.

To help the willpower aspect, for me personally a cheat day made things worse. Rather look for replacements that give you the save satisfaction but have less kcal. Stuff for kids made out of fruit is pretty nice. Usually it’s really just fruit with no added sugar.

Really? In my experience the stuff for kids tends to have the most ridiculous amount of sugar. Probably to get them hooked early.

Anyway your kcal tip is something I have started incorporating in my diet. Things that I buy from restaurants are kind of hard for me to quantify into kcal though.

You are right I phrased that ambiguously with the kids stuff. It’s rather for really little ones like first food kind of thing. What I meant were those fruit smoothies which have no sugar added. I find those quite convenient and satisfying 😋

I guess everyone is built differently. I’m 34, 5 foot 7 and I’ve never weighed more than 60Kg. I have a very fast metabolism (I can have a meal and be starving within 2 hours) and I’m a type one diabetic. If I’m not in perfect control of my blood glucose for a bit, I start losing weight like crazy.

Im now weight 53Kg and struggling to gain any measure of weight.

Damn son. Certainly wouldn’t want to be in your shoes. Usually I’ve always imagined high metabolism equating to higher calorie intake. Never knew it worked the other way round. After all if your body is really good at taking up nutrients then it ought to be gaining a lot more weight right? Btw is there any reason why you got type 1 diabetes so early?

High metabolism means the body goes through stuff really fast. For me it’s hard to keep up with it, so I’m always at a deficit.

Type 1 diabetes shows up early 90% of the times (it used to be knows as juvenile diabetes). It’s a result of a autoimmune disorder that destroys the insulin producing cells in the pancreas (it’s a completely different disease than type 2). I was diagnosed when I was 11 yo. Type 2 is a metabolism disorder, often as a result of excess weight and a sedentary life style that develops insulin resistance. While type 2 continue to produce insulin, albeit now enough or not as effective because of fat, type ones stop producing it completely.

Wow that sucks dude. Hope it does not get any worse. The only way to manage is with insulin shots I suppose

Now that sounds like my kind of life hack.

Oversetting?

Sigh they don't seem to have an edit button yet

It's tough, but it's mostly just willpower. It helps me to use a smaller plate, and not eating snacks directly out of a bag.

Wish I had that kind of will power. No really HOW THE FUCK DO PEOPLE NOT EAT THE ENTIRE OREO PACK IN A SINGLE SITTING?

If they're sitting in front of me I'll eat them, my trick is grab like 5 then put the rest in a cupboard. Then I move to an entirely different room to eat them. Same with chips and other snacks. I pour them into a bowl and put the rest away.

Gosh that kind of explains why it’s so much harder for me to not go in for more. Will try not to hog at the kitchen counter and grab more Oreo’s. Thanks for the advise.

Yeah... some of us aren't slim by choice. No matter how much I eat I only grow so much.
