Why do so many tech companies, like Reddit and Twitter are making their platforms worse for their users all of a sudden?
Money was basically free until now, making promises of infinite growth to investors possible. Not anymore.

EU votes to mandate removable batteries in smartphones in a landslide; no more glued together junk!
It might lead to thicker phones, but battery and/or SW obsolescence are the main reasons I have been swapping phone in the last 10 years.

Why do we use base 60 for time and base 10 for everything else. Why has no one decided to integrate it.

Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?
Planning to delete my reddit account before the 30th. Haven't touched reddit in a week.

Planning on moving to Nuremberg

I am coming then! After googling a little bit, my idea is to move to the north east of the city center. Work will be in the opposite side but my biking commute is my workout+disconnect time so I enjoy it. Is it a good place to move with my family, or should I look into other neighborhoods?

Thanks for the answer! I have checked the airport as you say and there are direct flights to my original country, and it's nice that it is so close to the city!

That's probably what I am used to, Swedes are very nice people but it takes years for them to open up, and so far I have mostly managed to become real friends with those who have been exposed to the expat community. In any case, I assume learning German is going to be an important step to socialize fully.

it would be nice to conquer overcast day on solar energy.
No. You can install higher efficiency panels which will have a higher yield, but if the radiation from the sun is not there, there is not much to do. On the other hand, you have bifacial solar panels, which are installed vertically and produce energy from both sides. If you have a lot of scattered light through the year, this might be a tech to look for.

Liftoff! Version 0.10.4 is available today!
Absolutely brilliant. The AMOLED dark mode is perfect now with the line in between posts, but if liftoff could use the system's accent color (at least in Android) it would be amazingly sexy.
