‘Indiana Jones 5’: It Took 100+ VFX Industrial Light and Magic Artists to De-Age Harrison Ford

The year is 2082

Hollywood will not take any risks.

The only actors are the reanimated corpses of Tom Cruise, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Saldana, Samuel L Jackson, Tom Hanks, and Harrison Ford, all de-aged back to life with VFX.

The only films are Fast 43, Avengers vs The Spider-Verse XIV, Indiana Jones 22, Star Wars Episode XXI: Revenge of the Return, Toy Story 25, Avatar 5, and The Lion King: The Animation of The Broadway production of the Re-animated Live Action: 3D Extended Edition.

Non-Americans who have been to the US.. What is the weirdest thing about America that Americans don't realize is weird?

American flags everywhere. Like EVERYWHERE. I get a bit of national pride but holy crap, every other house in the street is flying a flag, clothing has flag patterns, bumper sticker American flag, it's everywhere. And no, it wasn't even close to July 4.

It's like Americans are afraid they might forget what country they're in if they aren't in sight of a flag at all times.

Why does incest result in birth defects?

Many birth defects are rare, and require 2 copies of a defective gene to show up. Most "normal" people will be carrying a few defective genes (out of thousands of pairs), but are fine because they have a good copy still working.

Family members tend to have similar genes.

The chances of you and a family member having the SAME defective gene are massively greater than you and some random stranger.

Thus any child would also have a massively greater chance of inheriting 2 identical copies of the defect.

Nvidia insists it isn’t Enron, but its AI deals are testing investor faith

Nvidia definitely isn't Enron. It's all of Nvidia's customers that are mini-Enrons.

Enron crashed because they were cooking their books and faking income, declaring potential profit where none existed.

That's not Nvidia. Nvidia is selling actual product as fast as they can make it at whatever price they want to charge.

Nvidia's customers, on the other hand, are the ones who have to justify buying billions of dollars of product from Nvidia and explaining how they plan to make a profit from that.

The Tokenpocalypse Is Here: Companies Are Scrambling To Stop Spending So Much on AI | Leaked audio from Accenture says a big source of AI token ‘chewing’ is people just converting PDFs to presentatio…

The funny thing is that even with this massive overspending, AI companies aren't profitable. They need these companies to spend 10x the amount per token, and 10x the number of tokens. Probably 10x the number of customers too.

Burning energy, draining water, spending massive cash so they can lose money on a product that doesn't even do its job. How the hell has the bubble not popped yet...

Microsoft wants Edge to automatically open by default every time you turn on your Windows 11 PC

I honestly might switch to Linux. I know people say that a lot, but gaming has been the only thing keeping me on Windows.

But I've also come to realize I just don't have that much free time to game any more. Most of my computer use is putting YouTube on in the background or web browsing. I still occasionally game, but Linux support keeps improving and even if I only pick Linux supported games... I still won't have enough time to play them all.
