Hotel has extra fees? Well then...

Reply in thread

Yes. It's truly infurating how non car owners are forced to subsidize the ever loving shit out pretty much every aspect of car ownership, and then ignorant car brains have the nerve to complain about a small parking fee or gas prices, all while their mode of transportation is pretty much uniquely responsible for unimaginable death, injury, and ecological destruction.

I Mean . . .

Generations do have voting habits though

What you mean to say is simply that environment influences behavior. "Generations" are just arbitrary buckets that reinforce stereotypes and create division. A young gen x person likely has a lot more in common with an old millennial than an old gen x person.

Generally speaking people who need mental health help are going to be more easily discouraged by a negative interaction than the general population even if they can afford therapy in the first place. In the US at least there's also a shortage of therapists, meaning you might have to wait a long time to see anyone at all. And in my experience there are a lot more bad therapists than good ones (though assholes of this level are probably rare).

Honestly if it were me I'd just save myself the trouble, read a book on CBT and get some antidepressants. But that doesn't work for everyone.

Leak confirms GrapheneOS & Motorola partnership for non-Pixel hardware

Reply in thread

Unfortunately the first device from this partnership is unlikely to be cheaper than the a series Pixel lineup. The GrapheneOS team already confirmed it will have a flagship snapdragon SOC. Have you looked into used a series Pixel devices? The 8a can be had refurbished in the low $200 range, and it will have software support for 5 more years. The 9a can be had for about $250 and will receive 6 more years of updates.

Tattoos Affect Your Immune System in Ways We're Only Beginning to Understand

The most that came from it was learning I had celiac disease

Well that is kind of a big deal lol. You may already know all this but celiac causes malnutrition as well as direct symptoms.

Iron deficiency from gut malabsorption can cause pretty significant fatigue, malaise, mood issues, and other problems. The criteria for determining what is considered iron deficiency have recently changed as well so that a LOT more people are considered deficient compared to before, and not all docs are up to date yet. Assuming you're an otherwise healthy person, you'd probably want to have a ferritin (iron stores) of at least 50 ng/mL but ideally around 100 ng/mL if you're symptomatic. There are several other vitamins that are commonly deficient in celiac as well.

The people who believe "progressiveness is just a fad that one grows out of" are the same people that grew up getting brainwashed into regressive politics. The belief is only true for them.

Interesting podcast on this subject: https://srslywrong.com/podcast/ep-346-does-parenting-make-you-more-conservative/

The conclusion they come to is that becoming more conservative with age generally only applies to low information apolitical people who are sort of vaguely left leaning when they're young. As they age they become more entrenched in the system, acquire more wealth, etc, and those vaguely conservative ideas they had in the back of their minds become more pronounced. There's also the overton window shifts that may mean someone who thought of themselves as vaguely liberal in the past may now consider themselves socially conservative in the current climate.

Sometimes antidepressants can unmask bipolar disorder and cause manic episodes but I've never heard of anything similar with antipsychotics. In fact they're often used as sedatives as OP alluded to.
