*Doesn't look like anything to me.*
There are definitely starting to be some cases where I don't pick up on something being AI-generated, but that is the most AI-generated-ass-pizza I've ever seen.

Single Issue Brianna is worried now
Jesus Christ, Wu played MAGA apologist? Given her history? She's always been a shit person, I just figured she at the very least wouldn't join the crowd tied at the hip to her arch-nemesis GamerGate edgelords.
I guess it really doesn't matter what flavor of bad you are, in the end they all gravitate toward MAGA.

Super fun, watching our president reject every possible off-ramp with hostility only to later freak out and panic when there are no more off-ramps left. Fucking moron

Wish I had your optimism. It takes work to pull the fucking grubby mitts of authoritarians out of the machine, it doesn't always happen automatically.

In wake of Windows 10 retirement, over 780,000 Windows users skip Win 11 for Linux, says Zorin OS developers — distro hits unprecedented 1 million downloads in five weeks
Reply in thread
I jumped in to the Win11 beta and really liked it, they finally got most of the control panel into the new settings architecture and I never once had to dig deep into things to adjust something small, a lot of stuff that took finagling just worked.
And now I fucking hate it. The release version is jammed so full of bullshit features and useless AI junk that it is an active hindrance to whatever I'm trying to do. And more and more stupid fucking bugs bubble up in to the desktop and never get addressed, all while I get pop up after pop up urging me to try some bullshit new feature.
I already had one foot into Linux with my desktop but kept this because it was a Surface and nice at some point, but my next buy has to be a Linux 2-in-1, I can't deal with Microsoft's horseshit any longer.
I do want to emphasize that for the moments that it was unadulterated by rent-seeking, the new Win11 actually was kinda great.

Automattic CEO calls Tumblr his 'biggest failure' so far
Really, Matt? Nothing else, like how you went scorched-earth on WPEngine and caught a lot of people in the crossfire and destroyed a lot of goodwill in the process? Nothing comes to mind?

Bill Gates Admits ‘Affairs’ With Russian Women as He Apologizes to Foundation Staff Over Epstein Ties: Report

Yeah, this comes across as admitting to a small thing to try and avoid consequences for the big thing. If we're already in a place where we're talking about a man with a life of elicit affairs while spending time around a child sex trafficker, it is absurdly unbelievable that at no point did those wires get crossed or that he was unaware of what he was getting himself into.

There's something very funny about HRT coming from a literal egg

Outside of specific implementations like Tor's snowflake protocol, it's very easy for internet providers to see who's using a VPN, the only thing it buys you is privacy at the other end (so they'll know you're using a VPN, just not know what you're using the VPN to look at, hence why their panties are in a twist).

Head of the Signal app threatens to withdraw from Europe
Reply in thread
Bruh, you're trying to sanewash this of all things? Right now I can go to any third-party app store and click install on an app without me nor the developer having to kiss the ring of Google or by extension the regulators (EU with Chat Control) that they are beholden to.
After this I'll have to fucking install Google's SDK on my computer, manually download application files, and deploy them to my device over USB with CLI commands. I will never ever ever be able to get friends and family access to third-party applications after this change.
And fuck, man, there's not even a guarantee this solution will last, either. Google promised they would allow on-device sideloading back when they started adding deeper and deeper settings restrictions on enabling sideloaded app support, their word means fuck-all and you know that.

Microsoft isn't removing Copilot from Windows 11, it's just renaming it
Didn't they shove branded fucking Copilot keys down laptop OEMs and consumers' throats? Sounds like a lot of momentum to have to pivot away from. Momentum that literally every able-brained individual on the planet was pushing back on. Eat shit and die Microslop.

"It's a trap!"
Reply in thread
While I'm not 100% on it being a trap, we're in an unprecedented "the cruelty is the point" era that we've never really faced before. If someone I knew was considering calling the line, I would do everything I could to prevent them from trying it.

A Redditor Criticized ICE. Trump Is Trying to Unmask Them by Dragging the Company to a Secret Grand Jury.
Reply in thread
The "official" line is that he mentioned personal information about the ICE officer who killed Renee Good in his criticism, which they are forcefully misconstruing as doxxing/incitement to harass. Which all completely falls apart when you consider the information was already reported on by major news outlets and completely public/part-and-parcel of tens of thousands of similar posts. But our government is made of shameless knuckle-draggers, so here we are.

Considering that the only way that Ukraine could've avoided being attacked, pillaged, having had their women raped and schools and hospitals bombed, and been locked into a forceful quagmire over their own goddamn home is if they didn't miss the window to join NATO in the first place.
Like, you can play word games and place rhetorical traps all you want, it doesn't stop you from looking like an idiot for carrying water for the biggest crybully on planet Earth.
