Is there anywhere with a list of phone models and compatible OS?
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
DivestOS isn't around anymore, GrapheneOS won't work on it, and I think Calyx is still out of the game so that leaves Lineage as your best option. Maybe Kali

Kinoite and Silverblue are the official spins with less bloat if you will. Either way, I've installed Kinoite on a few people's computers with zero Linux experience and they've not had any issues besides a few minor questions that they would have on any OS.

None of this is how a democracy, let alone a government works. Yet they continue to get away with it

He is also doing many things contradictory to what he said he would do during his campaign. An issue with politicians doing things that they were not "elected" on the premise of. Then we can just go down the rabbit hole of if elections are rigged, blatant corruption, so on. The people should not pay for the decisions of a government that doesn't take care of its citizens

Netflix Doc ‘What Jennifer Did’ Uses AI Images to Create False Historical Record
"A primary concern for Petrucelli, Jenkins, and Antell, longtime documentary filmmakers and co-founders of the Archival Producers Alliance (APA), is to avoid a situation in which AI-generated images make their way into documentaries without proper disclosure, creating a false historical record."
They shouldn't be in a documentary period. A documentary is meant to be factual and historical so nothing fake should be injected into it.

Linux has over 6% of the desktop market? Yes, you read that right - here's how
SteamOS, Bazzite, and the Plasma DE I think are what's driving Linux to be more popular. They are all very streamlined experiences.

Half of Young Norwegians Say Online Piracy Is an Acceptable Way to Save Money * TorrentFreak
When streaming companies continue to give ads after you paid, raise prices, remove content, remove content from your "purchase library", force you to arbitration when your spouse dies (Disney), and spy on your network or phone, ultimately having crappy ever changing EULAs, then piracy is the way to go

One might try KDE Connect, Local Send, and Signal which has a desktop client

Did you watch GNs video? They go into detail on numerous predatory tactics. What you say makes sense in isolation but when paired with all the other awful things, at that point it's a pattern

How do i convince my brother privacy is important?
Find his information in a data breach and log into one of his accounts. Post something to prove it and show him how important it is to care about privacy/security

Of all modern Sci-Fi Dystopia depicted in movies, which do you think our world will most resemble or already does resemble?
It seems like we're shifting into Minority Report. There are actual pre crime divisions in police departments now and the surveillance state continues to grow exponentially.

Not really anymore. People pay subscription fees for all types of software and most collect and sell your data. FOSS software is free and doesn't spy on you most of the time. The tables have turned

Advice needed: my workplace has put Flock cameras at all entrances
Start putting up printouts all around the building with information on Flock and links (QR codes probably) to videos showing all the issues they propose. Hopefully enough people will start to understand what they are and get creeped out by them and raise a storm.
Here's a few:
Business Reform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xujArBaEcbg
Benn Jordan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB0gr7Fh6lY
Naomi Brockwell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOa9tjoxsQ8
Louis Rossmann: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK6WyS2JipQ
Then have links to hopeful stuff like deFlock and be sure to publish the cameras to the DeFlock map/OSM.

2024: The Year Linux Dethrones Windows on the Desktop – Are You Ready?
Reply in thread
I find most people don't know of the alternatives but they are open to change as they are unhappy with current options that they are aware of. I've talked with a few people that were surprisingly open to to trying Linux. They didn't know how easy it is to use and install but jumped on the opportunity as they were unhappy with Windows.

I don't want to chat with people on WhatsApp with Signal. I don't want Meta linking my metadata. Interoperability will only keep people from switching to better platforms
