Darkhorse Podcast Interview about BTC

"Who Hijacked Bitcoin? Steve Patterson and Aaron Day on DarkHorse"

As a fan of BTC I found this episode very interesting. I wish I had know this stuff earlier as it would have changed my perspective on BTC, such as the ideological differences between BTC and BTC Cash.

Active Retro Consoles?

What retro consoles still have the most active game development? The most games still being released physically? The best and most popular time-tested consoles?

I'm excited to start learning programming and had a thought to make a game (having an objective makes it easier to learn). I wrote up an entire plan already for the mechanics and it seems incredibly viable for a fun and full experience. I would like to have it playable on real hardware and am just trying to figure out which system to make it for.

EOL Router Question/ OpenWRT

Common security practices are to keep a router for as long as it's receiving security patches. Once it's EOL, then replace it.

I have a Gl.iNet router using the latest firmware that just released recently. However, the router is based on OpenWRT and is running v21.02 when the latest OpenWRT official version is 24.10.3. On OpenWRT's website v21.02 is considered EOL.

So should this router be considered EOL? Should the whole company not be worth buying from since everything sold is immediately EOL? I don't understand enough about cyber security to know how significant the jump is from v21.02 to v24.10.3.

PS. I know these routers can be flashed with straight OpenWRT but this is for the sake of my thought experiment.

BTC Longevity Question

When BTC continues to half it will deincentivise people to mine it. Their rewards will drop as the price of electricity stays the same in that moment.

How will this affect BTC's usability? If less people are mining then does that mean there will be a traffic jam when people want to transact, thus significantly raising transaction fees and slowing the process? This will deincentivise people from wanting to use BTC.

At this point what else would people flock to to keep currency sovereignty?

BTC Lightning? Though this is dependent on BTC as a whole right?

Monero maybe? I don't know really anything on how that coin works.

New Signal Contacts Not Appearing

I've been fairly successful at getting people to get on Signal of recent. However, I cannot find them in Signal to send a message. I'm on GrapheneOS, have them saved in the default contacts app (not something isolated like Fossify), and I have refreshed the contacts list in Signal. That doesn't work. So I type their number in the "find by phone number" and then all it offers is to "invite to signal".

Does anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it? I'm trying not to lose people from the Signal train but this is a real turn off for normies.
