Why do companies require you to submit a resume but also put the same data into their forms?
One is for HR to use to immediately reject your application. The other is to train their AI model.

The companies that don't allow you to use AI!
Are we not discussing the last comment? The AI projects got killed by compliance, meaning they were a security or legal concern. This guy thinks these people should be scooped up and elevated.
AI tech bros are just asking for failure. They are gambling on unproven technology and calling it the next coming of Christ. If they were right, they will make just as much money as any other non-ai company. If they are wrong they lose their entire company and their business model, and they lose employees who k ow how to solve critical problems when their unmonitored and liability free robot goes rogue. The pros do not outweigh the cons.

Americans say their incomes can’t keep up with rising prices—they’re cutting back on groceries, rideshares and alcohol
The cost of a 2 bedroom apartment has doubled over the last decade. Groceries are up 50% and I have found that the food I buy is spoiling way before the best by date, as if stores are not properly handling their merchandise due to cut regulations.
Despite getting small yearly raises my spending power has not increased at all.

Why the banks want a cashless society
Banks are hilarious. They use YOUR money to invest and make more money, then they have the audacity to give you paltry interest. Meanwhile they charge a percentage of a sale for processing that has a flat constant amount of processing power used. It costs them the same to process a $1 transaction and a $10,000,000, but they have the gall to charge 1.5% for both. Sure you can argue that the 1.5% is to cover overdrafts and nonpayment, but if you pay the bill in full you should be refunded the extra.

Anna's Archive Loses $322 Million Spotify Piracy Case Without a Fight; In addition to the penalty, a permanent injunction required domain registrars and other parties to suspend the site's domain names
The US music industry has always been bullshit, going all the way back to record labels. I would feel bad for the artists, but I don't give two shits about the distributor who acts like they own the music and feels entitled to all monetary rewards for someone else's work.

8 in 10 Europeans don’t trust US, Chinese firms with data
I live in the US and I dont trust US companies with my data either. They either sell it or are handled by easily exploitable systems developed offshore in India.
So, in that sense I do not trust the US, China, India, or Russia with my data and avoid software developed in any of these places when feasibly possible.

Trump issues ‘demand’ that states cancel elections and rig maps for GOP after Callais
And the people demand you get your ass out of office and into a grave. Guess what, cheeto. Only one of those things is going to happen, and it isn't the cancelation of elections.

Better to be imprisoned here than executed in China. It seems like weird politicking to just come out and admit your crime, but sometimes that is actually better than being sent back to or dealing with your home country.

West Virginians voted overwhelmingly for Trump on promise to cut electric costs in half. Bills in energy-rich West Virginia now top mortgages
A friendly reminder that generating electricity is the cheapest it has ever been.
Another reminder that power companies are being incentivized by the current administration to NOT to make their energy grids better.
This is what the Republicans voted for and what the Democratic party allowed to happen by putting forth their worst candidates.

I am responsible for gathering information on AI to determine whether we should use it for our next project. The ask was to use it for a critical process task. Immediately in my head I was like "no, we are not using AI at all", but I obviously need quantifiable data. This is just another thing to add to my list of why using AI for core processes is one of the stupidest things you could ever do.

AI is actually SUPER good at this and is one of the few places I think AI should be used (as one of many tools, ignoring the awful environmental impacts of AI and assuming an on-prem model). AI is also good at detecting code performance issues.
With that said, all of the fix recommendations should be fixed by hand.

This is what a CEO is supposed to do. They are the glue between every department and are supposed to make sure that everyone is on the same page. They ask "what is needed for us to get to this point and how can I help". They leave all functional details to the subject matter experts. They act as guide rails and do not derail the train.
Good CEOs understand that they are worth less than their employees because without their expertise and domain knowledge the CEO has no product to sell.

This is a line only few care about. Millions will blindly and gladly give their information over and happily play in the walled gardens. They see privacy focused people as old men yelling at clouds (pun intended).
