The 20th Anniversary remaster of Meshuggah's album Catch Thirtythree was just released today!
Also if anyone cares, Meshuggah are releasing a 30th anniversary remaster of Destroy Erase Imrove and Catch Thirty Three in July 2026. Catch 33 is my favorite album of theirs so I’m definitely watching out for it.
Hey everyone. So I live in an area that is mostly clay underneath the ground. To keep my foundation from shifting when it contracts during the dry months, I have to water it regularly. I have a soaker hose that runs around the house, placed 1 foot away from the foundation.
This creates a problem with mowing where I can't just let my robot mower (or my push mower) run freely because of the risk of the soaker hose getting caught up in the blades, which has already happened once when I accidentally mowed too close.
To resolve this, I want to kill the grass (using landscaping fabric) in the 1 foot space between the foundation and hose and replace it with something else so I don't need to bother manually trimming it. At the same time, I don't want to use organic stuff like mulch because underground termites also exist in my area and I don't want it to attract them close to the foundation.
A brief search pointed me to using gravel. However, the problem with stones (especially larger ones) is that they also trap moisture underneath them, and the dark and damp areas can also maybe attract termites. Reading a bit more, I think a good compromise would be smaller and uneven gravel/rocks, as more space between them means sunlight penetrates more and moisture gets dried up quickly. Is this a good solution?
Hi folks! First of all, it’s great that piefed.zip is back up, thanks to @[email protected] (as always) for being proactive in protecting the instance and its users.
Unfortunately I already deleted my lemmy.zip account so I wasn’t able to log in to see what’s up, although I did see the announcement post.
Can anyone summarize what happened? All I know is a couple of vulnerabilities were irresponsibly disclosed, but I don’t know the details of the issues found, what parts of piefed were particularly affected, how severe they were, and who disclosed them. Also, are there any indications of our instance getting compromised because of those vulns?
Thanks and it’s great to be back!
Hey all. I'm looking into getting a small action cam type of camera. Primary purpose would be for travel and recording music playthrough videos at home. My wife would like something small and discreet that she can use to take short videos while traveling, but not make her look like an obnoxious vlogger. At the same time I'd like to use it in my home studio to make videos. Doesn't have to be 4k, 1080p would be fine if it doesn't meet the budget limit. I'm looking into something less than $200.
Anyone have suggestions?
No nuance and characters are saying the obvious stuff, because viewers are looking at another device while watching. We’re so cooked.
Disclaimer: The ham is just store-bought and warmed in the oven. I took the picture before pouring the sauce.
Just discovered these guys recently. My favorite thing about this is the bassist using a lefty bass and playing it right handed. lol
No official thread yet so I’m creating one.
It’s the start of the 2025 season!
Anyone else watching HBO's Task? What do you think?
I started watching last week and finally caught up with the latest episode (ep 5). I personally like it. There is only one plothole I'm annoyed about, but I think overall it is executed well. Acting is also great.
The Spurs are streaming their open scrimmage for free right now. Most of the players are playing, including Wemby.
