what are some ways to torify debian 13.6 or yt-dlp 2026.07.04 if yt believes I'm a bot?
If you use yt-dlp through tor it will be worse: 403 almost every request. I don't know if youtube treats tor exit nodes different or it's because other people also uses that address and generates a strange behavior which youtube flags.
What's works best for me is using my own residential ip and waiting like an hour between downloads. Throttling doesn't seem to help.
Regarding how to torify, you can install tor with apt and it will act like a proxy. Then you can use yt-dlp proxy settings

Does anyone use QubesOS as a daily driver?
I use it as a daily driver for years now. Just a few things to learn on top of regular linux and you are good to go. Feel free to ask anything.
You are more protected from supply chain attacks but I think it's not a long term solution

You can change the spelling of one word in the English language to match how they are pronounced. What word do you pick?

Could running a VM help me organise my computer better?
qubes os is for you. Don't be scared by it as you can start using it without paying attention to many of its security features like disposables, proxy vms, etc. Just think of it as several vms with a shared clipboard, file sharing mechanism and a convenient apps menu. You can learn later it most advanced stuff

Are homoglyphs at all useful for preventing data scraping?
that's great! I believe it would be useful for simple word-matching filters but in the long run LLMs will read it no problem. I would use it if you make it public

Looking for peoplecs experiences with Systemd-less distros for a home server
I use artix for my work and personal servers. There are a few kvm hosts and several virtual machines with internet facing services such as dns, web, mail, wireguard. On the way to be fully gitopsed with ansible. Sometimes I borrow specific packages from arch repos but almost everything can be made with artix alone. The only notable issue I had was with cloud-init which I replaced with more complex playbooks and bash scripts. Ama

its not a special setup. you can log in to jellyfin using a web browser in your laptop and connect the hdmi to the tv. then this device appears in the cast menu, so you can choose movies or shows in your phone (jellyfin app) and cast them to the laptop

I've just installed and configured it, it's pretty easy and straightforward. But there are things that should be smoother, for instance I want to run my pipeline on a custom docker image hosted on the same forgejo oci registry and authentication it's a nightmare

Tor Guardians
this is how it works. as guard nodes know your ip is better to trust on one of them rather than randomly changing like other nodes. they rotate like in three months iirc
