Texas might require Bible readings in schools. Some religious scholars fear the consequences.

As someone who went to a Christian school for years, there's a lot of cherry picking lines from the Bible to read.

They're posting this to Late Stage Capitalism. Surely there is an implied understanding in the wider goings on with the world. In addition to all of the issues presented with a civilization that's slowly collapsing, OP is also commenting how a lot of people are being medicated just to deal with it.

Sweet dreams are made of these?
For the uninitiated:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/9702164-i-dreamed-i-saw-my-maternal-grandmother-sitting-by-the
TLDR: It's a disturbing and bizarre quote about a sexual dream he had about his grandmother.
I have no idea what prompted this man to reveal this information to anybody but his shrink and his priest.

remember gary
He died 6 years after the "groundbreaking" book in question was published. He was kind of right about some things, but wrong about a lot of the details.
It is definitely possible to shoot yourself in the head twice while trying to commit suicide. Your skull is actually very dense, and if you don't know exactly where to point, you could easily fuck it up, but still be conscious enough to finish the job. This infograhic has been around for years and persists because of its inflammatory nature even though it's incredibly misleading.
I highly recommend you read about this man regardless.

Nobody deserves this. These people were suckered by a conman who has decades of experience conning people. That doesn't warrant a death sentence or even imprisonment.
If a successful coalition is to be formed, it has to be made up of former Trump voters. We won't have the numbers otherwise.

Handled a ThinkPad today. What distro should I go with? Ubuntu? Arch?
Depends on what you're looking for. I'm guessing you're more of neophyte to Linux or you probably wouldn't be asking.
I always recommend Linux Mint to newbies. It's very user friendly (more so than windows 11 imo), and it's a spin off of Ubuntu, so it's got great support behind it.
Ubuntu itself is a spin off of a distro called Debian, so if you ever have problems with Linux Mint and you can't find an answer on the very helpful Linux Mint forums, you could always search for your answer on Ubuntu's forums, or Debian's.
Arch based distros are better for newer hardware because it's bleeding edge, but that laptop looks so old that you probably wouldn't need anything like that.

I've got an old desktop PC hooked up to our TV running Linux Mint Debian Edition. Attach a wireless keyboard and track pad to it such as this and you've got an easy to use streaming device that you can also download to. And you can install Ublock Origin for ad free streaming.
If you want something more portable, you may be able to get your hands on a Walmart onn. TV Box 4K (2021) and install Lineage OS on it, which is a heavily deGoogled Android fork that would allow you to stream more similarly to devices running Google TV.
