Do you ask polyamorous people they're polyamorous?

Reply in thread

I was a bit young and just fell silent, because they included it in their greeting, when I was a guest at their place

Yeah, she was pretty and I would have tried, if I would have had the confidence, but even with the invitation, I stepped back

Anyway I'm not really big on one night stands, I need to have some emotional connection. Else it just feels like wanking into a women.

But that's me and others probably would have taken that invitation

22 Best Free C/C++ IDEs and Editors for Linux in 2026

I've worked years in vim with plugins, but keeing it up with plugins working, that are not maintained anymore was quite a pain.

It was the most perfect IDE I had though.

After that, I've tried CLion, because I quickly needed something that worked with really large projects.

But with every update it got worse.

Currently I'm on zed and kinda happy with it.
There is still some stuff I'm missing and their focus on AI seems to overpower necessary features like multi windows - which is my main concern, as I need those badly.

But I'm too over worked to actually setup a new vim/neovim environment and don't really know where to go...

Edit: many co workers went to VS Code, I'm spoiled with the search function of CLion.
Editing interfaces just by searching and replacing/extending existing code was a breeze. Didn't find this anywhere else...

‘We created a monster’: companies rein in AI usage as costs strain budgets — Amazon, Walmart and Uber are among early adopters that have introduced caps or discouraged wasteful activity

Burn your AI tokens and get promoted for using more AI!

I sadly don't find the GitHub repo with the bash script anymore, but that thing seems to do the same thing
(Maybe I've misread though, I'm just going to sleep)

Edit: ha! Found it!

Kitten Update (pictures of Schlomo in the post body)

Surprisingly it seems they can

Fenri really likes to cuddle with us and if he understands, that a hand belongs to us, he won't use claws - both of the actually
That my feet also belong to me is a bit harder to understand it seems ;-)

And when they want to climb us, they obviously use their claws, but as it is quite hot at the moment and I'm often not wearing trousers, they seem to be a bit more careful
Like in my jogging trousers, they smash their claws in hard and climb, but with my naked skin, they're much more gentle and just try to come up - and I need to help them

This Fake Cancer 'Cure' Has People Go Naked Into a Big Plastic Bag, Then Gasses Them With Industrial Bleach

I've been gifted the book of Kalcker from a work colleague, who completely believes in such bullshit

The book itself is stupid. It tries to present a model, why bleach should work, but only gives half truths about its chemical properties, while writing about them in different styles, but always saying the same thing - and after saying the same thing (wrong) 3 times, he says, those together are the reasons, why it works.

It's just beyond stupid.

Now I can boop her snoot forever.

I didn't had a dog, but a cat that meant very much to me

Not after a bit more than a year, we need to take of a stray with her 2 kittens.
So much emotions are coming up, I sometimes can't take it.

But as stupid as it sounds, there is a TV show with Dr Pol in Massachusetts or something
Anyway, he says, you can never replace a loved dog, but you can always love a new/another one

And that's true.
My cat has nothing anymore from my grieving, but this cat family now has got everything, because we care.

But as said, it's really hard on us and we spent nights crying - and nightmares are coming up for me

So, it's not easy, but still, he is right

Moral support

I'm actually really grateful for the moral support I get on site

The mechanics and electricians could all already go home, but I'm struggling with the control of the machine because of some bug

So they all stay and try to support me as best as they can

They can only do minor tasks, like getting test cartons out of the way, but just being there and like holding my hand really helps, because I'm not left alone in the clusterfuck I'm in - although it doesn't concern them in any way

On the other hand, I'm staying and try to help with test orders or moving some test cartons, when they need to check for mechanical or electrical problems

A team is a team - she sometimes, just being there, is really worth much

Same, very same

I often used that in a "therapeutical" way
Like meditating about, that I want to die now and deciding on it
Until some part of mine started to rebel and then I build up on the feeling to get out of my suicide wish again

Now, I've promised my wife to not kill myself.
And honestly, I'm missing that tool now to get out of deep depression

Obviously, it's not a safe one, but it worked for me.

Took quite some time to gather other methods
