Schlomo is absolutely loving the little play house, I've bought them - and both of them happily slept in it tonight

Schlomo is like 30mins older, but he always does stuff first and is the explorer of them

I showed him how to play with the play-mouse and he already started a little fight with it :⁠-⁠)

As seen in the picture of the post, Fenri is really focused on us.
Cries when we say good morning and starts running to us, so he can climb up on us (when we're kneeling) and wants to cuddle :⁠-⁠)

Both of them stole our hearts and we already pretty much decided to keep both of them.

The mother should get back to her rescuer, as soon as they have a suitable apartment and the kittens don't need her anymore.

I'm not sure, if it will even be possible to keep all them together in a single apartment without conflicts.

We will see how things develop...

So, we took in the stray our neighbour saved and had two kittens in the first night at his place.
Which wasn't suitable, because he already has a cat and is a bit too small for all of them.

Those two kittens are now approaching their week 3 age (tomorrow) and already have more than 400g each.
They're over performers - probably because it's only 2 - but that brought some problems with the little red one.

When they're growing so fast, they sometimes have trouble walking.
White one was already crawling all over my wife, while red one was doing frosh legs.

Mother invited me into the nest, waited for the kittens to be in my arms and left for a bit, came back and sat down on the other side of their nest room.
I didn't know that this is possible, but it seems, she can selectively call them.
So she called the red one to her, to train walking.

(She already tested both of us, by leaving us alone with the kittens and monitored us from some distance, so she wasn't just trying to get her kittens back)

I watched red one quite closely and he had troubles getting his back feet under his body.
So I started some physiotherapy with him, by just holding my hand behind his legs, to give them something stable to push off from. And sometimes I gently corrected his feet position, to get them under his ass.

4 sessions later (just 1,5 days) and he proudly showed off, how he can walk :⁠-⁠D
Until he reached my hand, let himself fall into it, laying there on his back and holding a finger of mine with his feet.
You could just tell how happy and proud he was :⁠-⁠)

By now, he made it into and out of the basket alone

Mother is getting a bit over motivated though and I have to keep an eye on her to not do something stupid.
She was really thin and had an abscess, when we got her.
By now, we're training her up by playing and she already got visible muscles and is much more steady on her feet.
But with that, I have to take care, that she isn't getting adventurous on the balcony...
Which is giving me quite some stress, because as a stray, she is used to be outside and I can't just lock her in.
But she obviously has to follow some rules, if she wants that freedom.

We're working on that - with me monitoring and sweating ;⁠-⁠)

So, actually a long story

A neighbour of us took up a stray cat, that obviously asked for help and always came up to him.

So he took her in and in the first night at him, she got 2 kittens.

As their apartment is a little small at the moment (they're just about to move to a nice one with a garden) and as they already have a cat, we took over.

Mother cat is surprisingly well behaved, but for the first days asked for quite some attention.
Like even calling us, when she needs to go to the toilet - and informed us, when she's finished.

As she also has a wound from her gangster life, we had the vet here today to check on her and the kittens, and everything is pretty much fine.

But...well, quite some more action in the last days here ;⁠-⁠)

I've build them a hideout with blankets, but already in the first night she decided the little room, which was the toilet room of our sadly deceased cat ('bout a year ago), was the better place to be.
So now we put some blankets there and a warming matt.

They all seem to be quite happy and mother is very friendly and chill.

We're already heart broken, when the neighbours get to their new flat.
But with a garden it's obviously the better option...

Kittens are now like 6 days old and start to move a bit more - and not just rolling around on their full bellies :⁠-⁠)

Since 2-3 days (and very probably related to an update), I sometimes only get a black screen instead of the post feed, when returning from a post.

Version: 1.80.3 On Android 16/GrapheneOS

I haven't tried to clear the cache yet.

Anyone else experiencing that or is it just my device?

Edit: just saw that there is a new update to 1.80.4
Maybe that solves it already

Edit 2: until now it didn't occur anymore after the update.
I'll mark the thread with [SOLVED] or something, when it doesn't happen anymore in the next 1-2 hours

Edit 3: ok, maybe a bit premature to mark this as solved, but the issue never came up again and I specifically tried to provoke it.
Either updating itself fixed it or the new version did.
Either way, seems to be fine now. If anyone else experiences that issue, I'll "re-open" the thread and remove the solved tag

I've already posted, that the account of my nephew got deleted on his main server and he is pretty devastated because of that.

As he only wants to build things with his friends, I'm starting to think about renting and setting up a VPS, as I'm still having a pretty much unused reserved domain lying around, which I could use for that.

Is that much work to get working (would be running on a Linux server) and is it time consuming to maintain?

And what should I expect hardware wise?
So what would the requirements be?

Maybe some background:
I'm a software developer for real-time Linux applications and I'm running my own business server with a VM as a Wireguard every point into my business network, and then some Docker containers for stuff I need.
I'm not that relaxed with server stuff like that, but I usually get it working and it does what I need.
So, I guess, I should be technically equipped enough to setup a Minecraft server.
But I don't have that much time on hand to really care for it, if it needs like weekly attention.
That's why I wanted to ask, what the timely expense/effort would be, so I could guarantee him and his friends with a stable virtual world.

So, I gave my old work laptop too my nephew, who loves to play Minecraft.

I set it up with Linux and everything was running perfectly fine.
But now he came to me and said, that his account got deleted or/and all his things are gone.

Because of troubles in my personal life, I didn't had the time to look into it myself, but I just wanted to ask here, if there is maybe a known issue with playing on Linux, as I know, that some games block Linux, because of some anti cheats aren't working on Linux, as those anti cheats modules aren't allowed to run in kernel space, as they would like to.

I'd be really thankful for any help here, as my poor nephew is pretty devastated, because of all the time he spent building in the game and it seems, that everything is lost...

I was running Kodi (and some *arr services) on an old laptop, but that one seemingly now decided it was time to die.
It was a bit underpowered for the task anyway and more meant as a test platform, to see if the setup works and if it's also comfortable enough to be used by my wife.

So I'm having this laptop connected with HDMI to the TV, with a HDMI-CEC adapter to let me use my TV remote and a reasonable large (12TB) external USB HDD for mass storage - which is a bit of a bitch, because it tends to go to sleep and not wake up properly or doesn't show with e.g. lsblk anymore (but that could also be a wonky usb socket in the beaten up laptop)

Any recommendations for something that could play some media well enough, handle multiple download connections and isn't eating much power, when not actually in use?

I looked at some Intel NUCs and some Chinese small form factor thingies.
But I'm not entirely sure, what would be sufficient and the best choice here.

So, I'm having the problem, that I'm downloading things with the wrong audio language, because it seems Sonarr interprets "SUBBED." as having said language as audio

Is there any way I can filter this out correctly?

Although this versions had a better quality, there were actually versions with the correct language available.
So maybe also my quality profile plays a role and gets higher ranked than my custom language profile?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm somehow stuck to open a file of a project in a separate window (to put it on another monitor)

I'm fed up with CLion and VSCode is too far from my vim past. So zed seemed like a nice choice, where I don't need to put so much work into getting a working dev env, as I would with (neo)vim - and also caring about extension compatibility with updates is a thing here...

So zed really seemed nice, but after getting my toes wet on my laptop, I switched to my workstation with 3 monitors and I can't find a way to have my project files open on my monitors/in different windows.

Am I just stupid or what am I doing wrong?

Googling told me, that other people have the same problem, but I can't really accept that a modern code editor isn't able to show a file in a different window.

Is this still true?
That sadly would be a show killer, as I can't even open up the same project in a separate zed instance - it just switches to the existing open project

Any help here would be really appreciated.
I really don't want to fall back to CLion - again :⁠'⁠(
Especially as that one is getting more and more bloated and even with the same settings currently behaves different on my laptop and workstation. But it could be that I'm just missing something here...and that's not really the topic anyway

Maybe I'm just clumsy, but had anyone else problems closing the new folio (non typed) covers, when they are completely folded back?

I already had one remarkable pro slip and completely damaged because of that - luckily reMarkable was awesome enough to replace it.

But with the old covers I never had this problem. Seems like there isn't much space to put my fingers to separate the back and front cover again.

Maybe it's just a technique issue and so I'm asking how you guys are doing that

I'm currently looking into the flipper zero as a portable device to help me analyze stuff in my work.
I'm travelling as a software developer, but often need to work at a very low level with hardware in the automation industry.

I've found the Flipperscope, but I'll also need something to record streams of data on serial interfaces with different baudrates - and any other interface to gather raw data would be awesome as well (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, CAN,...)
Also, the IOs would need to be able to handle something like 5/12-24/32V.

I'm not quite sure where I should start to look or if the flipper even is a good device for that.
But the form factor and option for extendability seems very intriguing.
