Portugal's fascist regime lasted from 1933 to 1974. It was 5 years longer than Spain's.

Nope. In portuguese we do not call the toes "fingers of the feet". In fact we do not have a word for fingers. Or toes.
What we have instead is a word for those little appendages that one can find at the end of one's arms or legs. We call them "dedos". Most of the time we do not feel the need to specify if we are talking about fingers or toes. Context is usually enough to distinguish between the two. But when do have to be specific, we call the fingers "dedos of the hands" and the toes "dedos of the feet".
Now, that may seem weird to some, but to me what is really surprising is that some languages found it necessary to use two words to describe what is essentially the same fucking shit.

Nobel Prize awarded to ‘godfather of AI’ who warned it could wipe out humanity
I guess some people are genuinely concerned about AI wiping out humanity. Do not worry, that will never happen. We are already doing a fine job fostering our own extinction. If we keep going down our current path, those soulless robots will never even get the chance.
Now, in truth, I do not know what will kill us first, but I reckon it is important to stay positive

That seems perfectly reasonable. That is little more than 100 tabs per window. I routinely have more than 500 tabs per window. Currently, I have 3 windows open with a rough total of 15000 tabs

hey guys
They obviously did not know it. Which is perhaps why that never actually made such a claim. The bible simply asserts that light and matter were create by God (and that light was created first). It never says that God used light to create matter.
In fact, you are the only making that claim. And you clearly made it after reading about the experiment. So, there, mystery solved, I guess.
Also, the word light is often used to symbolize 'truth', 'knowledge', 'guidance', ' enlightenment' ... "God is the source of all truth and only through Him may man find enlightenment". This is what John 1:4 is refering to. It has nothing to do with physical light.

I am sincerely curious what kind of turn-based RPGs you have been playing where you dont have complete control over your actions and the combat. The only real difference between action and turn based is that in the latter things happen in a syncronous, lockstep manner. And the reason for that is to allow the player to think every action through. The outcome of the combat should be a product of your good and bad decisions. Hence why turn-based games tend to be more tactical.
Also, in my experience, turn-based RPGs tend to offer a much wider range of actions for the player to choose from. The same would probably not be feasable in an (pure) action RPG due to its real-time nature.
The quintessential turn-based game is chess. Are you telling me that you think chess does not require skill or that the players are not in control?

I think feudalism is supposed to be feudalism in this meme. I do not think this is supposed to be an analogy at all. Just a "demonstration" of how non-sensical the "this is the best it will ever be" mentality is.

for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
No. I first joined Digg and Reddit around the same time, but I rapidly came to the conclusion that Reddit was the right choice for me. I just loved Reddit's simpler and less cluttered interfaced, and the smaller (at the time) communities. Then, one day, proper Reddit became 'old' reddit, and it became clear that the end was coming. I started my search for an alternative almost immediately and now, finally, I found one. So, no, I am not heartbroken. To me, Reddit has been dying for years. And honestly, even if reddit survives, I do not want to go back. The feddiverse is a much better proposition, it is the way forward.

Ok, sure, she did not read the instructions. But what is the problem of guessing black? Obviously, if they are asking you to guess, that must mean there is some level of uncertainty regarding the child's colour. Humans do not come in many different shades but black is surely one of them. It would have been really weird, for instance, if someone were to guess blue
