Am I going to reduce a room’s temperature covering a huge hopper window with either paper or reflective aluminum foil, but leaving the window a bit open when the sun shines directly into the window?
I've just done an experiment with horticultural sheeting on all my (huge) bedroom windows and it did not work. Any type of reflective material would need to go on the outside of the window to work.
If you are able to, give it a try and see what happens.

How many of the 170k English words do you know?
Not a native speaker, got 88 - although I'll admit a few were a lucky guess.

Good job
I don't know if it's a fluke or what, but one time I decided to bake cookies so I started the oven and walked away in typical silly goose fashion. I got distracted upstairs and my cat barged in my office screaming and acting unusually agitated. So I followed her, she led me to the kitchen where the oven has been preheating for a good 45 minutes.
She got extra dreamies this day.

Do you run a YouTube channel? Tell us about it
My husband does, I think it's really cool (disclosure: I may be a little biased). He buys random super 8 film canisters on eBay, scans them and uploads them on his channel.

It's mostly home movies so you get an unedited flavour of the past.

When you're cooking and it does its thing.
Unpopular -slash-borderline-psychopatic opinion: there should be onion grilled in butter scented candles on the market.
I would buy it in a heartbeat. I've seen garlic bread candles on Etsy after all!

Yeah I've done that and I highly recommend it, purely for the time travelling experience - I mean in the first season there were hardly any computers around and certainly no mobile phones, absolute mad lads! It also made me realise how well-researched the stories were, like there's an episode about an evil AI and they use jargon we use on a daily basis today. Great stuff all around.

Why left-leaners are in general against AI?
Personally I think the environmental impact and the sycophantic responses that take away the need for one to exercise their brain are my 2 biggest gripes.
It was a fun novelty at first, I remember my first question to chat gpt was 'how to make hamster ice cream' and I was genuinely surprised that it gave me some frozen fruit recipe along with a plea to not harm hamsters by turning them into ice cream.
Then it got out of hand very quickly, it got added onto absolutely everything, despite the hallucinations and false facts. The intellectual property issue is also of concern.
