Slingshot Speeders v0.1.3 — sign in with Google, MapMake, Season Alpha

Reply in thread

I will implement a system that allows you to edit your profile name, as a "soft" username, but it won't reserve the name, rather just making it easier to keep using the same name instead of having to type in your name of choice each time. But this doesn't stop someone else from using the same name on the leaderboard. The biggest benefit of having a link signing in with Google is that you keep all your history on your account and can easily share your profile/rank/runs.

Slingshot Speeders v0.1.3 — sign in with Google, MapMake, Season Alpha

Great feedback, thank you. I will work on making the default thrust trail better visually. I'll add a toggle button for prediction line. Sign in with google should still allow you to type in a name the same way as if not logged in, I'll look in to making sure there's no issues with that. The way profile saved names work is that a reserved official name will be saved for verified supporters in the future, otherwise names will rapidly be squatted on by bot accounts. Your linked google account will still allow you to save progress and share your profile, but not reserve a name. I think eventually yes, there will need to be some type of preference settings. Thanks again for playing!

Slingshot Speeders 0.1.2 — boards wiped, the ship gets lighter as you burn

Reply in thread

Thanks Derg, I'm glad you're enjoying it, I saw your run on the Trefoil and it's been great to see you improve. I'll look into that issue for the v0.1.4, just posted the v0.1.3 changes which was a massive update. Yes using afterburner can be the fastest strategy on the shorter simpler maps, but it consumes 225% fuel, so an extra 25% premium for that double boost.

Also remember, your ship becomes lighter as your fuel leaves your vessel, so your acceleration increases as your tank gets lower! So yes, using your afterburner to burn more fuel faster can definitely be the strategy, I'm glad it's working.

v0.0.7 is live. The path is easier to read, scores are honest, and a share link opens the tape.

Here's a test of a link directly to a recent run I did:

I got 956 / 61.25s / 53.1s fuel on Slingshot in Slingshot Speeders! https://slingshotspeeders.com/?r=1174

Two things I'll fix. It seems like going back to home after a replay keeps you stuck on that link. Also the only way to get the link is to copy it after you do a run, when you should be able to get and share the link at any time. That'll be one of the next things I work on in the future. But as for now the v0.0.7 is stable and should be running much smoother.
