Genuinely curious, do you all think should there be a rule against posting major social media links such as this?

My thought is that I assume most of us are here for a different online social experience and would ideally not contribute to the current social media companies’ practices.

The joke is on point, but I’m wondering if it can be hosted on PeerTube or something.

Several Lemmy iOS apps look to have left TestFlight!

I started with Mlem, then Memmy, tried Thunder, Limbo, the Voyager web app. The new Voyager app definitely seems the most polished. I will say though, a new discovery and my primary lately has been Avelon. It is buttery smooth and many options in the settings. One that was missing from Apollo was the “mark above as read” option for posts, which is present on this app.

Definitely give it a try: https://testflight.apple.com/join/IzB0ZiBO

new mod, please help [half way solved]

I have only used the mod tools through mobile browsers. I found out that you need to click a post or comment first, then click the three dot menu for the mod options (pin, ban, make user a mod, etc), you cannot access this from the feed preview of the post (that three dot menu does not have mod options).

I’m not sure about why you cannot see your own posts. I usually check them by clicking my profile to make sure they are listed, and then go to the community that I posted to see if it’s actually visible.

How do i find remote communities v2.0

What app are you using? If you’re on iOS, I know the Voyager app allows for selection of filtering your search to Communities, Users, Posts, etc. and Lemma has a pretty good smart search that has found the communities I was looking for.

As far as I am aware, at least one user on your instance needs to be subscribed to a community on a different instance or at least specially searched for it to be searchable. In your case, if no one on lemmy.world is subscribed to or specifically searched for lemmy.radio/c/amateur_radio, you wouldn’t see it on a search from you lemmy.world account. Otherwise you’ll need to use a browser to find the community and seek it out on the web. Not super streamlined yet, I agree.

The only other more functional browser searches that I know of are:

https://lemmyverse.net/ and https://browse.feddit.de/
