The French railway network has shrunk over the years
Reply in thread
I'm not sure if you've really thought this one through. Railway maintenance is expensive, and operating stations and switches requires personnel as well. In low-traffic areas you could get away with one single bus line, meaning you only need to maintain that one bus and pay the driver's salary.

Ukraine rescues soldier via drone delivery of complete e-bike
Glad to hear Ukrainian forces care enough about their guys and gals to go through something like this to rescue them. I suppose the other side wouldn't do the same.

Body of man missing for 28 years found in melting glacier

There was a hint of a possible motive though: "He was travelling with his brother, Kathiruddin, on horseback on the day he went missing. Police said a family feud had forced the two men to leave their home. " But yeah, seems like a pretty plausible accident.

Another desperate attempt by technologically illiterate media giants to hold on to their ad revenue. Even if this would pass into legislation somehow, good luck enforcing it.

AI experts return from China stunned: The U.S. grid is so weak, the race may already be over
Coal use isn’t cast as a sign of villainy, as it would be among some circles in the U.S. – it’s simply seen as outdated. This pragmatic framing, Fishman argued, allows policymakers to focus on efficiency and results rather than political battles.
There's truly something for western politicians to learn from this
