Why everyone is switching to NixOS ?

I keep seeing trends with Linux distribution like teenager looking for new fashion.

I think it’s mostly the very young Linux user who hope from one distribution to the another over and over whereas many just stick with what they got : Ubuntu, Debian, mint, maybe fedora.

NixOS is certainly interesting tho.

Did the reddit hivemind do a 180 or are the people left behind just the people who don't care.

She’s not a monster, she just doesn’t reddit like I do.

The way you need to precise she’s not a monster make me doubt it. Does she live by night, avoid the sun at all cost during daytime and drink children blood for dinner ? If so I have bad news.

on a more serious note, I agree that most people come on reddit for a little giggle or to spend time but don't know that much about the backend of it. Eventually they find out after some time and then decide if they care or not about the api price change, in the meantime no one can blame them for just living their life without caring about reddit.

Windows compatibility is insane!

Reply in thread

I know it’s a même but Linux isn’t that good for running old app that have a user interface. Old command line interface works perfectly but that’s mostly for developer.

windows make it available to everyone.

It’s one of the few things windows does better, might as well recognize it.

North Korea: Residents tell BBC of neighbours starving to death

Everytime i read about North Korea, i wonder how people can be so passive. I get that they risk being shot at anytime but at some point when you see people around you die from starvation, don’t you say fck it and go kill a government official ?

I get that I’m not in this situation, probably would react different but from the exterior all of that is painfully passive from North Korean.

Lemmy et la censure

Reply in thread
