Staying at the top.

So true -- It's totally because Gabe rules as King and they don't have 'investors' -- One day they'll sell or he'll die and it will be turned over to the wolves just like everything else.

It's telling how they have no real competition other than cash fire ad fueled investor snake oil a la epic ea ubisoft w/e -- Is GOG still cool/unruined by short term anti user greed?

end citizens united -- corporations aren't people

end lobbying so shell oil doesn't have 10000000X time and money to affect the government as a person does.

Quit assigning good/bad labels to companies that operate within the law and furious pursue laws that make us more equal, richer and safer overall

Homeschool rule

Raising your kids is ultimately about preparing them to be full productive adults that can seek fulfillment and provide a net good to the world once they're adults.

I don't see any way you could create a microcosm in your home (any home) and meet that goal or not severely hamper your kid from meeting that goal.

Manchester Airport: Police filmed stamping and kicking man's head

When she grabs the pot of boiling water, one deputy steps back “away from your hot steaming water,” he says.

“I rebuke you in the name of Jesus,” she says in response.

“Huh?” the deputy says.

“I rebuke you in the name of Jesus,” she repeats.

“You better fking not or I swear to God I’ll fking shoot you in the f**king face,” Grayson says to her.

Does it? Is a rebuking a threat with a weapon? Why doesn't the militaries just have shoot if you're scared rules but USA police do?

Remember when Spez said it was "It's time we grow up and behave like an adult company"? Apparently, that means paying himself $193 million and single-handedly tanking Reddit's profitability right b...

The people with all the money don't care about anything like this. They don't even care about stewardship/long term value building except maybe the Dupont's and old moneyers. Why wait around trying to make or build something when I can just ride the hype train and make sure I get off and onto the next one before the house of cards falls down?

TSLA's market cap is 618 billion dollars

GM's is 45 billion dollars

Shell Oil's market cap is 200 billion dollars

I've decided that's what's wrong with everything at the core -- the only virtue is money and it doesn't matter how you get it. Spez or anyone else could be doing way worse and everyone would shrug.

Lemmy's total users surged from 156k to 240k in a single day today! What caused the jump?

It's the way tech disseminates into the world.

If you've been here for a month or more, you're a first adopter and the true heroes of our cause. You take up what makes no sense to -- what is untested and will likely be a waste of time.

These people then tell the early adopters, which is what you are if you've been here for a couple weeks.

Once we got on board, we told all our friends who join, and then the whole thing keeps snowballing.

Of course, Lemmy really has Reddit to thank for making us all balk enough to take a look at fediverse stuff. Mastodon really didn't do it for me when I checked on it a couple years ago, but this is awesome and totally makes sense.

Playing around with Pleroma now so I can follow users here!
