Microsoft addresses Windows Recall backlash, promises to fix security issues and make it opt-in
We have seen this game 100 times. Opt in for now and then turned on for everyone 6-12 months later. It's just a temporary move to handle the bad PR.

Yep, you send me html, my browser can interpret it any way that I want it to. If I want to ignore all of the image and script tags, I can. I don't need Chrome or even Chromium. As Stallman says, you should know what is running on your system.

US Supreme Court pauses order requiring return of deported man
Because you wouldn't want to rush giving freedom to an innocent man /s

nothing to see here, just the POTUS threatening to deport American citizens to prison in El Salvador...
He knows that the treatment of the prisoners is bad. He is happy to send people to face cruelty.
Remember, we have already found that some of the people there now committed NO CRIME! They were denied due process. Now he wants the same for anyone else that he doesn't like.

Indiana police have dogs that sniff specifically for cash at the US’s 2nd biggest FedEx hub, then they simply keep the money

My first thought was the same thing. But then I realized that birthday cards go in envelopes. Usually they go through USPS, not FedEx.

Foundry Workers Melt Down Charlottesville’s Divisive Robert E. Lee Statue

The thing was made 60 years after the war ended. The guy fought against the United States. Never should have been made in the first place. It's a shame that it took so long to correct this mistake.

What happened to the flat earthers who demonstrated that the earth is round in the netfilx documentary ?
The documentary was called "Behind the Curve" and featured Bob Knodel. Unfortunately he passed away this year. https://www.robertsfhsc.com/obituary/RobertBob-Knodel
It looks like you still believed in the theory though. He had a YouTube channel that was devoted to flat Earth conspiracy.

These San Franciscans blame pedestrians for traffic deaths
Still, some think safety measures do more to inconvenience motorists than to protect pedestrians.
Oh no, wouldn't want to be inconvenient to motorist.
Do you know what else is really inconvenient? Death. Tends to mess with your plans.

Florida fines high school for allowing transgender student to play girls volleyball
Glad to see the school has some common sense. The principal and athletic director pushed to keep her on the team. Great classmates as well, learning to make their voice heard.

I feel like something that's titled "and how to fix it" should tell you how to fix it.
It doesn't.

The relationship is different though, BMW is not a service provider.
A better analogy would be the phone company. Is it their job to monitor their customers conversation and determine the legality of what is being said?

Why Illinois and Minnesota?
Reply in thread
You are correct, according to government data for 2023 the Florida and Texas numbers here are a little low. Additionally, the estimate for Illinois is also a little high. If you look at the government estimates, the point of the posting only becomes more true
