Canada Prime Minister: We are not a subsidiary of the United States. We don't accept the attitude of american negociators

Reply in thread

That sounds like an interesting idea. I teach my kids French here in Okinawa, because I learned it as a kid growing up in Canada. I do it because it could provide opportunities for them in the future. It's also fun and a part of Canadian tradition that I wanted to keep even if they're growing up thousands of kilometres away. Now, I get to do it as a fuck you to the USA.

One thing about the site though...

Flip the language on your favorite show once in a while.

That needs to be fixed.

I'm sure that site is still new, but it would be nice if they provided resources where one could learn or teach French (free or paid) without relying on US platforms like Duolingo or Kindle books.

Why we're so sure our phones are listening

I didn't know it wasn't already verifiable fact that the phone's listened to us. I had assumed it was a "feature' I had on the phone because whenever I talked about something, it would always show up on my Instagram feed. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, so I just switched to graphene and stopped using most Google and Meta platforms.

What's the most unforgivable sin done in media that you're still bitter about?

I don't think many people will care about this series but Phantasy Star Online 2. I absolutely loved the first ones on Dreamcast, GameCube, Blue Burst on PC. It was my first foray into mmorpgs and shaped my teenage years. I was so excited that they were making a sequel and, of course, Sega fucked it all up as they always do.

I hate the way they made it all animu bullshit aesthetics and weird concepts like fighting tanks in modern day Tokyo or dinosaurs in the past. And so many micro transactions and weird credits to buy. Why couldn't they just keep expanding the story on Ragol?

The great thing is, people can choose to be silly or people can choose to be serious. Let the person go find a bakery that works for them.

Edit: that being said, I don't personally get why you can't just say a silly product name unless it's like really vulgar.

Are we sure America is a developed nation?

Infairness, natural disasters will fuck up any developed nation, but you'll see huge differences in the way their peoples and governments respond.

But it certainly brings out the worst in people. For example, in Japan, I think our government responds fairly well to natural disasters and our infrastructure has been built a little better to withstand them. But social media is rife with fake news about foreigners looting in the aftermath.
