What is your favourite gaming console you have played?

Looking at it just purely because of the console capabilities itself, the Wii was the best console.

Most of what the Wii did, no other system console or PC replicates well even to this day. They did this while undercutting other consoles on price, still putting out solid entries to their core IPs, and broadening gaming to new gamers.

All of the other consoles I would want to put at number 1 really are only great because of the library of games they had. Most of those libraries would have been better off if they were not forced to be on proprietary hardware.

A person who has more muscle will burn more calories just existing than someone with less muscle. Muscle growth is impacted by hormones and other factors impacted by genetics.

It is a lot easier to diet properly when you burn 1500 calories a day resting than 800 calories a day resting. Taking the right supplements can obviously fix this but someone with 150lbs of muscle can just follow basic nutrition guidelines and it is "easy".

Middle school kids he mighta done nothing wrong at all. Those kids at that age are terrors and will oust people from a friend group for the dumbest reasons imaginable.

Sucks because that person may have done everything right and years later still can't trust people or open up to them.

People seek confirmation that their negative traits are positive ones. Why put in effort to win, when you can just get an echo chamber to explain to you that you already won because of XYZ reason.

This isn't limited to the manosphere stuff but it certainly is a big part of it. Any group that uses that other people are full of shit though as evidence that they are the good guys is also trying to pull the same trick.

There is value in feminisim because women's rights are "new" and that is to say that there are people alive who grew up in a time where women's rights were considered a joke. Women received the ability to have their own bank account without a man co signing in 1974. That means MOST Gen X people, when they were born, their mothers were not legally allowed to have a bank account. That isn't ancient history like some folks like to act it is.

Survey: 73% of Amazon workers are considering quitting after 5-day in-office mandate

Reply in thread

Yea but moving out of country doesn't normally come with you also getting to work less hours for more pay. Leaving Amazon for a competitive offer does.

High performers can do whatever they want, giving them a reason to leave like this is silly. Treat your employees like they are too immature to balance their work and life and you will end up with immature employees.

At the end of the day the question is do you want results or do you want butts in seats. If you run a factory it's fair to want butts in seats. If you run a creative endevor you should want results.

Another redundant app

Sharing your opinions of how others chose to dress or act is weird unless you are doing it to influence others. Trying to influence people by belittling them is rude.

You could be saying it about how someone dresses, or dances, or what bike they chose to ride.

It is unfortunate that men belittling women about their makeup is so pervasive in our culture that after at least three generations of people highlighting how hurtful it is, people still think their right to state their opinion of random people is more important than people's right to go through their day without being accosted.

Voting for the lesser evil is still evil

Reply in thread

I vote for them, they move right. I don't vote for them, and vote third party, they move right. I join their party and vote in their primary's for progressive candidates, they move right.

It's almost like a bunch of really old, well off, lifetime establishment government folks just actually want to be conservative authoritarians. At BEST they are stuck in a mindset of 1969's ideas of what progressive politics are because that is when they became politicians.

New Steam Agreement gets rid of forced arbitration and waivers for class action lawsuits

Discrimination only applies if the two parties are similar. In this case the location makes these parties dissimilar due to the inability to just go from one place to the other legally. Brazil gross national income is 1/3rd the US. It makes sense to price things at 1/3rd the US price.

Steam taking 30% is a better deal than any other form of media gets by a mile. It's crazy folks complain when it is so easy to self distribute a video game, people have been doing it for years and years. Steam doesn't even require you to sign up for exclusivity like basically every other distribution/marketing service does for all media including other video game services.

Have you seen progressive people be discriminatory either intentionally or unintentionally and if so in what way?

Genocide is a term that is both over and under used. There are currently about six genocides ongoing. I don't see the point in trying to call someone out on it because no one is actually doing anything for or against it outside of a very small number of people.

If someone asks me if I'm anti genocide I assume they mean something they specifically consider a genocide and they are trying to use this as bait to get me to out myself in some way. They don't actually expect I'm personally participating or countering it in any way.

Trans rights also is a loaded term now because there are a LOT of individual rights Trans people are needing to fight for all in parallel. It's better to be specific.

Sure someone who says they are against trans people is awful, but I find folks set the bar in different places and use that to start an argument. The easiest example is, what age should someone be allowed to transition which is an intensely challenging question to answer even on a medical level.

What were people doing before high fives??

Reply in thread

The world doesn't work better if people help those closest to them. The majority of the strife in the world exists because people help those close to them and treat others as outsiders. You can look at any system ever used and the point of failure is always someone tipping the scales intentionally to favor those near them.
