Designing that LED such that it couldn't be disabled, covered, or removed might be trickier, but it would've been an easy way for Meta to show they were at least trying to prevent them from being used by creeps.

Reading into the updates some more... I'm starting to think this might just destroy CloudStrike as a company altogether. Between the mountain of lawsuits almost certainly incoming and the total destruction of any public trust in the company, I don't see how they survive this. Why does everything have to be so fucking stupid? Is it really not enough that we have to watch the destruction of democracy happen before our eyes? Must it really be carried out by a group named after an early 2010s internet meme featuring a Shiba Inu with bad grammar? Do we really have to read serious reporting about the criminal connections of a 19-year-old government employee called "Big Balls?"

We'll see how that actually works out. Tumblr’s backend has always seemed rather... makeshift, so I'm curious to see how they manage to do that. Given Tumblr’s technical eccentricities, a backend migration could probably do a lot of good for the functionality of the site, if done properly. I have my doubts that WordPress' engineers will be given the time and resources to do a full overhaul/refactor though, so I'm fully expecting even more janky, barely functional code stapling the two systems together.

I wonder how much it has to do with how much of a shithole the Fandom network is. Between the godawful UX, aggressive SEO to bury competing wikis in search results, and scummy business practices that effectively prevent wiki admins from migrating to other hosts, the idea of maintaining a game wiki probably isn't all that appealing these days.

Humble used to be an event that celebrated and showcased indie developers while at the same time raising many millions for charities. Then IGN bought it and rapidly enshittified it into a bog-standard, for-profit corporate enterprise like any other, and I'll never forgive them for it.

It's important to remember that Jones is a grifter first and foremost. He has never sincerely cared about anything in his life beyond his own enrichment, and I don't think this is a sign of him starting now. That said, I think it may still be significant that even hardcore grifters like Jones and Fuentes are starting to publicly speak against Trump. Grifters are always going to follow the money, so if Trump's ship is sinking so fast that even Alex Jones sees it to be more profitable to start to move away from him, maybe the MAGA cult of personality really is starting to finally fall apart...

Granted, that's all speculation, and Trump has managed to defy every previous prediction of the fall of his influence, so I don't want to jump to any conclusions here, but after the Canadian elections, I feel like I have a bit more reason to afford myself a little optimism for the future...

The other reason is that mid-to-low income adults became a much more lucrative demographic after decades of wage stagnation basically created an entire generation that's too tired and overworked to cook for themselves but too poor to go out to eat anywhere else.
