So fucking weirdly creepy
Does "trolling" just mean "being trashy" now? Lol

I have shirts that still look practically new after dozens and dozens of washes.

Good thing browntiger15 explained that that was some legit fairy tale level shit right there, or I wouldn't have known from the story.

Sick Rule
Wtf that's my partner's friend! I've seen people I know on Reddit a few times before, but I didn't expect it on a less populated place like Lemmy. It's a small world.

Why does it feel like too much effort just to go from sitting around looking at garbage online to simply watching a film or playing a video game?
ADHD. A lot of people might say depression, and ADHD gets misdiagnosed this way too, especially because people are much more familiar with the way depression manifests rather than how ADHD actually manifests beyond stereotypical hyperactivity and difficulty focusing.
What you're describing is executive dysfunction and energy regulation problems. The reason you can't stop scrolling is because your brain doesn't produce dopamine enough, and it's only used to the short bursts it can produce. This creates a feedback loop where you're stuck stimulating yourself with quick, easy dopamine hits, and that's why anything that seems like a prolonged task feels like an impossible endeavor. It's also why you'll get tunnel vision if you ever do start playing that game.

A Staggering 19x Energy Jump in Capacitors May Be the Beginning of the End for Batteries
Serious question: How is this different than all the other sensationalized headlines about some technology that's gonna change everything, and then you later hear nothing about it?

What you’re saying is like, “You complain about being sweaty??? So what, do you complain at the gym too?”
I’m not in a theater. I’m at home. I don’t want the TV crazy loud for a number of reasons which can include the fact that I’m not a terrible neighbor, the time of day, my partner may be asleep, etc.
If I wanted to go to the theater, then I go to the theater where I have certain expectations which includes well-mixed, loud sound. That’s fine, and I will hear both things that way.

I had to stop drinking milkshakes once I started counting calories because of this kind of thing. Like, I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was this bad. 😬

White mom sues Southwest Airlines over "blatant racism" after alleged human trafficking flag
To add insult to injury, the mom was flying to her brother's funeral when, upon deboarding the plane plane, they were stopped by cops and questioned under suspicion of human trafficking. Can't imagine how rough the whole trip was for her.

Asking a serious question
I think it's really ironic when I see these memes, because it highlights how our own heads will highlight the things that grate against our own nerves.
I assume everybody that this resonates with resonates with it because they themselves have been told to go against their nature and wanna know why the other side hasn't.
I'm the other end of that spectrum. I promise you, people told me all that. "Mind your peers. Share the space. Stop being...so much. Learn to be comfortable in silences. What can't you shut the fuck up?"
I have autism, so I didn't understand why I was always screwing it up. I also hated hearing, "Be yourself. People will like you for who you are," because I found that when I stopped trying to mask, I'd immediately hear all of the above all over again.

I don't think the problem is simply that it's offensive. It's that it's not even funny.

D&D Rule [OC]
Yeah, the problem with self-inserting into D&D characters is that you get personally affected by what happens to them and how they're treated. It's called "bleed". Plus, if it's a self-insert, you probably play them not too dissimilarly from how you act in real life, and they're probably used to referring to that personality that they're familiar with as a whatever pronoun they know it by.
