About the fine tuning argument
I always found the fine tuning argument silly.
It's like saying a hole was designed for the water the happened to settle in it after a rainstorm. "The water fits perfectly in the hole, so therefore the hole was fine tuned for that puddle of water."

I never knew that USB-C extensions are not allowed for a reason

It's amazing for a "standard" that there can be so many non-standard ways to do it. Your explanation is great and just reminded me that cable tester tools are a really good idea to have at home. There was one in Kickstarter earlier this year, I think, that was a really smart idea. I don't recall what it was nqmed though. Maybe you have heard of it? I'll see if I can find it.
Regardless, there are some devices that really need a specific type of usb-c cable to function properly and/or not burn the circuitry. (i.e. Nintendo Switch, the original release model (though, they may have fixed it in later hardware revisions))
Edit: Found it! That cable tester that I was referring to was called the BLE CaberQU. I think it is a really neat idea.

While my anecdotal story won't mean much in the sea of Internet comments, i look at it from a societal point of view; when I graduated college, I came out with $100k in debt, no job, and no way to make ends meet. I did work hard through jobs and through as many clever ways to move the debt around as much as possible. Eventually, after many years, they were paid off. Student loans are a curse cast by the greedy predatory schools and lenders that make empty promises.
Who am I to get upset when someone figures out a way, or stumbles into a way to release them from that curse? In the long run, the sooner loans are paid off/forgiven, the sooner it will help everyone else.
The most important asset to any country is it's people, so why wouldn't we want to take care of each other in every way possible? We all live on the same rock together, so why not try to make life less painful for everyone.
Will people take advantage of it? Of course. There is no way to prevent that, but if resources are provided or made easier to access, then it makes it less likely for people to take advantage of it.
Do I think that will ever happen? Probably not, it's a utopian ideal and it would take such a major paradigm shift to get people to have empathy for others and to help lift each other up during rough times. I still think it's something to strive for, even if we only achieve a fraction of that utopia.

Ragatha and Kinger.
Highly recommend the show. If you know the story of "I have no mouth and I must scream.", it's essentially that, but not as horrifying.

Dammit OneDrive
As annoying as it is being set this way by default, it's easily avoided by right clicking on the user folder to move ( documents|desktop|video|etc) folders in File Explorer -> Properties -> Location tab.
Then either: Type in: C:\users[your current user]\Documents (or which ever user folder being changed)
Or
Click Move and browse to and select the local folder you want to use.
Click apply, it will ask you if you want to move contents from the original location as well.
Click yes, and now your user folders will be and will stay local. I haven't had any issues since and have had that set for years on my windows PCs.

I do openly disclose my use of AI and I have no intention on selling them.
While anyone can bash on some keys, it is becoming more difficult to even prove something wasn't created by AI.
So, that spurs another question; If someone made it a goal to generate something fake and fool everyone that they create, while the artwork was generated and is not their own, the intention was to fool everyone to make a statement.... would the deception be a form of art?

That's a good point, it would be fraud, but art is very interpretive.
It reminds me of that Banksy painting that he put a shredder in the frame and it was put on auction. When the painting sold for $1.4 million, the painting proceeded to shred.
I don't know if that Banksy painting would be considered fraud or not, but he definitely made a statement.
