Searx is no longer maintained
Funny that I found out about it this morning and at night it was abandoned. Makes it look like it was one of my projects lol

I have two middle names, and they are exactly the same names from a porn star turned politician in my country. Plenty of jokes about it.
The weirdest moment was when a teacher was correcting one of my essays and asked about the origin of my name, after I explained, he mentioned that he liked one of the movies that my name doppelgänger made, I had no answer and just said “ah…” and after some awkward silence he gave me back my essay.

What have you done recently to lovingly annoy your spouse/significant other? For example, this morning I brought my wife her toast singing the first line from "Baby One More Time" in Brittany voice...
Whenever I let out a big fart close to her I say her name out loud in a surprised tone accompanied by “that’s absolutely disgusting!” and she eye rolls immediately lol

Personally, I did it just to save battery. But recently I made the mistake to connect and it updated to an interface that I don’t like and the battery that was bad (it’s 7 years old) seems to be worst.

What's the most legendary thing that's happend to you?
I was in class one day on a chair close to the wall. A fly passed in front of me and went down under my chair and straight to the wall. I looked at it and then to my desk and saw a paper ball that I had made. I threw the ball without looking from my left hand straight to the wall under the chair. When I looked again at the fly it wasn't there, when I looked at the paper ball the fly was right beside it.
Tldr: I killed a fly with a paper ball without looking.

Can we prevent cars from sending data to servers if we remove their antennae?
I thought they would disable my esim after the grace period was over, they gave me the option to pay for a subscription and I said “Hell no!”. But I guess I’m more valuable driving that thing than I thought. So yeah, probably only hacking it to disable the esim.

Even if your parents weren't truly bad, what was the most narcissistic/narcissist-esque trait or thing they ever did?
Not the most but probably one of the last ones. When I decided to move to another country my mother refused to help in any way, even though the money necessary would make no difference in my parents life. Not only that, but she actively sabotaged every effort I made and in my last day she asked me to talk to her. She cried and cried and said: “I fought so hard for you to stay here. Who is gonna take care of me now?”
And that’s how I moved to Canada in February without a winter jacket and had only 20 dollars in my bank account after paying the initial expenses.

Google raising price of YouTube Premium to $13.99 per month
Reply in thread
Exactly. 14 a month is better to just download Adblock and work on the alternatives. 20 a year, considering the amount of youtube and youtube music I use is a great deal.

Mostly, a bunch of alarms for the daily things, like get ready for work or lunch time, and listing what I have to do for the day in a piece of paper. The last one helps with tasks like folding laundry, calling some company, setting up some kind of appointment. If I just let it loose I’ll avoid/forget doing it for months.

Whats something that is only worth getting the expensive version of?
Reply in thread
Not sure about hand tools. I always buy the cheapest ones that apply to my needs, and they last. The only time I broke one was when I bought a screwdriver at Dollarama, but I understand that I went too far with the cheap tool. Power tools is correct 👍

Middle-aged and some what tongue tied (medical condition) anyone else in this situation, and go through with the procedure?
I noticed I’m in the same situation (tongue tied), and the only downside I noticed is when speaking Spanish I can’t really say the R as in the word “Rico” correctly. I do it in a very simple way but can’t hold it like most speakers can. And I though about having it corrected, but to me a surgery would be too big a risk for a small benefit.

Yes, that’s a fair point. But even with an investment in better wages, training and more education a critical shortage will take at least a couple years to be mitigated, and a couple years doesn’t seem to be a viable option right now.
