Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model on your device without consent. At a billion-device scale the climate costs are insane.

Unfortunately it is not so simple. Microsoft Windows uses Copilot inside the system. Google Chrome uses Gemini models. Even the duckduckgo uses an optional AI. Nowadays any computer touches the internet touches AI systems directly or indirectly.

  1. Use as much as possible the local software instead of cloud-based softwares
  2. F*** the big tech companies. Use Linux, use librewolf or brave or any suitable browser instead of Chrome and Mozilla.
  3. Use firewall all over your system.
  4. Use DNS filtering
  5. Use custom roms In your android
  6. Fuck Google search. Use another search engine.
  7. Use Neovim or VSCodium instead of motherfucker VSCode
  8. Use self hosted cloud services

You cannot avoid 100%, but you can decrease the collateral damage in this way.

Palantir Says SaaS Is Dead

Reply in thread

I was particularly disgusted when I realized that the project called Gotham was being used in the wars in the Middle East. Until now, I was among those who believed that artificial intelligence would benefit humanity. However, my hope is gradually weakening. Aside from generating more profit, strengthening the power of monarchies, and benefiting monopolies, I haven't yet seen any aspect of it that touches people's lives.

Software Engineers Say They're Losing the Ability to Code Now That AI Does It for Them

Muscles that are not used lose their function. It weakens and eventually becomes unusable. As humans' ability to ask questions of artificial intelligence increases, its ability to learn and store information is disappearing. If the brain can obtain something easily, it doesn't feel the need to take precautions regarding it.Therefore, memorizing code doesn't involve things like writing it anymore. It only keeps the recognition function active when it sees it.

Ghostty Is Leaving GitHub

Another Microslop victim

Since Microsoft acquired GitHub and CoPilot, GitHub has been losing ground. Systems that try to force AI integration on their users only cause User reaction. That's why many users are switching to systems like Codeberg.

Microsoft Exec Suggests AI Agents Will Need to Buy Software Licenses - Business Insider

Reply in thread

Chain fraud activities are being carried out in chain systems like n8n, where AI agents are used together. It didn't take them long to create systems that generate deepfake voices to sound like real people, directing users to buy a product or deposit money into an account. Many videos on this topic have surfaced in Türkiye, particularly on YouTube. If the users and system creators are to be penalized, then of course, information logs regarding these agents can be used.

However, if this is being done to keep some agents out of the system using user license fees, it will completely backfire.

Palantir and the New Order: Neoliberalism is dead. Say hello to Techlordism

It's the age of "Mega Tech Corporations"

If corporations become immune to oversight by state legislative bodies, they exert pressure on governments and transform into feudal structures. At this point, countries that host technology companies have a major role to play.Today, if a technology company has billions of dollars, it can certainly pressure the government to act in its own interests. At this point, the government needs to create legal regulations for these types of companies.

Language Tandems -Seeking 🇷🇺🇬🇧🇩🇪 Offering 🇹🇷

Thank you for the suggestion.I've tried that app before, but I encountered too many bot accounts and malicious individuals on it.Therefore, I especially prefer to keep them as text and voice recordings via email. Those who aren't really serious about it don't continue after a few practices. However, since social media platforms with photos and videos are generally active, language practice eventually turns into relationship practice.

My main goal here is to practice the language. I'm looking for people I can communicate with to practice the language, without anyone invading my personal space or me invading anyone else's.

Microslop isn't removing Copilot from Windows 11, it's just renaming it

We weren't expecting anything else anyway. Now they've come up with this licensing problem too. They have a proposal that would require all AI agents to operate under license. This way, they're trying to eliminate other developers from the system even during the development phase. These are qualified sons of bitches.A horde of creatures capable of any despicable act to create a monopoly.

How's your language learning going this week? - Weekly thread

English Practices

As a native Turkish speaker, I started to read Paul Auster's the New York trilogy. I'm using a voice recorder while I was reading. From sentence to sentence I am recording my voice to my voice recorder to compare it with the native speakers audio. By doing so, I hope I can correct my pronunciation mistakes.

German Practices

And also I am learning and refreshing my memory in German language. When I was in high school I learned German, because we had a German lessons. After 19 years I start the again to my German practices.

Using Anki flashcard application with sentence decks and vocabulary decks. At the same time I am practicing on LingQ German. And I bought dealing with books in German language ( German and Turkish ). I started my practices 79 days ago and now I can easily understand intermediate level voice records and the texts. I am not checking any of Grammar rules in German. Just trying to understand translating full sentence and using echo shadowing technique.

In Anki application I am using four different colors in my flashcards. Feminine articles are pink, masculine articles are blue, non-gender articles are green, plural forms are yellow. I'm adding photos if available. And using in text to speech features of Anki.

Russian

A 2014 I was living in Russia. I stayed there one and half year. I have already B1 level Russian. To keep it fresh sometimes I watch YouTube videos such as уральские пельмени, Comedy Club. And using echo shadowing method. When I was watching I am also recording the interesting parts to my voice recorder.

Trump alum helps Israel mount AI influence campaign

Not only Israel got tired. Also I am tired as a Muslim Turkish citizen. This endless hostility between the western civilization and the east of civilization made tired everybody. Everybody hates each other even though they don't know each other because of this military operations. For 3 years televisions had pumped this hatred and hostility. Because of the government policies of countries everybody judged each other. Visa procedures at the borders have changed.Their behavior changed when they saw a Muslim or a Jew outside.Everyone is very tense because of these events and wants them to end.Living in the modern age is already difficult, and this added stress makes it even harder.Economic crises arise due to embargo policies imposed by countries on each other. The war in the Middle East has spread to my country as well. We have seen price increases of up to 300% in basic consumer goods.Petroleum products have seen a massive price increase. And right now everyone is blaming someone or some people because of this.It basically arose because of one man's ambition. And he needs to finish this war the way he started it.

Most Syrian refugees in Germany expected to return home in three years, Merz says

Migration waves are not among the primary structural problems in Germany. The German economy's dependence on America along the Atlantic axis and the industrial shift of its workforce eastward constitute the root of the problem.Another issue is the brain drain from Germany. Many German citizens are migrating to German-speaking countries, primarily Austria, or to English-speaking regions for opportunities in the IT sector. In other words, Germany cannot retain its skilled workforce. It cannot break free from its economic dependence on America. Industrially, it cannot compete with China. When you add migration and a cumbersome bureaucracy to all of this, the current picture emerges. But it's interesting that he thought he could solve the problem by eliminating secondary causes instead of addressing the root cause.
