Recommendations for podcasts to fall asleep to?
If I remember the name correctly, "Sleep With Me" is designed specifically for this purpose.

What's one small thing you've done to make your life easier?

I tend to use glass jars for this. They are reusable and recyclable, you can see what's in them, they protect what's inside from getting crushed, and they're free if you repurpose jars that food came in.

What's your favorite Enigma / Riddle / Sentence Puzzle?
It doesn't lead to a destination, and maybe isn't even a riddle, but a sentence I like is:
Is your answer to this question the same as if I had asked you to give me a dollar?

Could you resist a true virtual reality and should you?
This idea of complete control over your reality reminds me of the book/novella The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. Suffice it to say the story suggests that such a reality would ultimately be meaningless.
I would say it sounds great though, even if eventually it gets really depressing.

NEMD: Thanks to this community, I may finally learn to touch-type!
It took me about two weeks to get fully comfortable going from a normal keyboard to a Keyboardio. It was a long two weeks but I'm really glad I did it. And so are my fingers.

Is it just me?

Oh wow, that's pretty cool. For some reason I never considered that it could be ported. Hopefully it's not too much work to change out the back end.

What are people’s thoughts on Threads?
The practice of "embrace, extend, extinguish" comes to mind with this. If Lemmy becomes 90% Threads then Meta can make huge changes to the platform. This would be a bad outcome.
I do like the idea of companies being able to host their own instance and join Lemmy, but I can't imagine that going well until Lemmy is already strong on its own.
I'm happy to be defederated with them, but I also have my (pure speculation-based) doubts about the platform lasting long enough to make a difference.

You can make one change to the world/reality that makes people's lives more inconvenient or awkward. What do you change?

Depending on the device side connector and how the PCB is designed it actually can be orientation-dependent.

Do any of you use Raspberry Pi’s ?
One Pi Zero 2W runs NodeRed to control a few lights in the house. Another used to run Octoprint until it recently stopped responding. I haven't gotten around to troubleshooting it yet.

Eight images, each an AI interpretation of a sublocation of a larger location in a video game. Can you guess which?
Possibly the two newer Zelda games.

Missing apostrophes on 9/11 memorial
At least it's something that could be added, as opposed to something that needs removing or changing. Of course, that doesn't matter if there's no desire or money to change it.

[Solved] I want to ditch Nextcloud notes
There are other note apps that can sync with Nextcloud. I settled on Quillpad because of its checklist functionality, though admittedly it's not perfect.

Sure, asking for a single dollar isn't the best use of the question. You could ask for anything, not that the recipient would actually deliver on it.

This is not a stereogram. If you look at it a certain way it will not resolve into anything.
It's a sailboat.

What are some good Overleaf (Latex) alternatives?
Reply in thread
I use VScodium with some plugins. But writing in any editor and running the typst executable with the "watch" argument is also an option. That way as soon as you overwrite the source file a new PDF is generated. In that case I use Okular which auto refreshes when the open document changes.

What is a quote you see everywhere that you absolutely hate?
Reply in thread
Embarrassingly it took me years to realize what that quote meant. I had always interpreted it to mean that the item is found in an unexpected place. But of course what it really means is that you stop looking once the item is found, therefore that's the last place you looked 🤦
